Anybody know anything about this car? Seems like a steal if it didn't cost much to rebuild.

Jamie's old car. It is a damn nice car.
I think you need more than 10K to get it running again...?

this is what the ad says "Car needs new Pistons, and a Crank"

crank is about 2000$ new, you can find them used for a lot less.
pistons are about 1200$
might want to do rods as well

average motor rebuild is about 7-13k plus the cost of a crank if you need one. just a ****** build is all you would need for that power, im sure it can be done for 10k IF thats the only problem with the car. :dunno:

That was Jamie's car... Boost Almighty bought it and I thought it was sold to a UGR customer who wanted a rolling chassis. But Chris is selling it! Odd...

Chris is a good guy, but he owned it for like 4 weeks (and it was blown when he bought it).

You can do THAT only.... That is only the mechanical part of the job.

If you intent to actually RUN it hard at those HP levels, you need a lot more than that....a lot more...
It is an early Hennnssssy car and that is why motor alone is not enough....
I dont want to bash it, it is a super nice car, but you WILL need more than "guts" for the motor.

what else? i see fuel rails so he has some sort of fuel system. 950rwhp doesnt require a whole bunch as far as fuel goes. ok ok if he has to get a new fuel system, which i doubt then tack on a few k$. i dont see the whole fuel system with an aem being more than 5k$ for that car.

also you dont have to run 15psi. who says you do, im talking about getting it drivable and running again and its just bottom end work. just run off 7psi or what ever the waste gates are and you will be fine.

all in all its a great deal. i honestly would have bought it and built the motor (10k) got an aem and better fuel system (5k) and there you have it. what else? im sure the heads are ported to an extent if not then spend 6k on some strikers or 4k on some greg goods.

so about 20k on top of that price and you will have one top running TT car, not to meantion it holds the hennessy name. 65k for that car? great price. even just the motor build and fuel system will make the ending price 60k, even better deal. screw the fuel system and just rebuild the motor and run less boost. now you get that car for 55k.

if you decide to sell it you can sell it for more than that, hell acr's are selling for that price..

In that case, drop a used stock motor in it, turn the boost down, and be on the road for less than 5k in parts.

actually, that doesn't sound half bad.

i did some calculations and it would be a good idea for me to sell my car and buy that one for my project. but i just noticed it was posted in May and should be sold by now. i wish i realized this before. the stoptechs, rims, race, tranny etc is everything i need to do now anyways and this car has it along with a front splitter. damn now im sad. :( i will call tomorrow anyways just to be sure

yeah i figured it was gone when I saw the post date, plus the web site he had created about the car is gone now too. someone got a steal if his ad was true. I really like my ACR that I picked up for 46k a few wks back (bone stock but 2700 miles) but when I saw this I was like "Dang"! I swear I don't remember seeing it when I browsed the classifieds twice a day for the entire month of Sept.
