Upgrade to SRT 14" Front Brakes

Just debating over upgrading the front brakes to the 14" SRT-10 14" version. Is this just a quick bolt on application of the calipers? I have a 00 RT/10 with 18's so I know I can upgrade to the 14" brake kit. Im just debating the cost/performance benefits.

Also I have heard that on the Gen II's, on the caliper where it says "Viper" is usually white. I heard that if that turns yellow, it means the calipers have been over heated before and they need a change??? Anyone...... thoughts?

I also heard that if you put these on a Gen 2, that you have to paint car red with yellow decals and yellow wheels!

It was almost a badge of courage for track guys to have our brakes turn yellow. If you really used them hard they turned even a darker gold.

Bright white Viper lettering indicated wimpy driving. : >)

Are you sure those rotors are on correctly? I seem to recall the slots should be facing the other direction.

It seems to depend on the Mfr.

My EBC's which these appear to be as well, clearly stated to mount them as shown (they are stamped left and right).

My understanding is the the internal cooling vanes should be oriented so that hot air is directed/flung out towards the tire and not pushed down towards the wheel hub which would happen if the vanes scooped into the air.

That may or may not correlate to the outside slots I suppose. I notice that Brembo for instance always seems to have the slots going the opposite way.

Each rotor was marked and I installed front and rears according to instructions. These are EBC rotors.

Go srt all the way around. It will be better balanced. You won't regret it.
