VEC and extension serial cable,

Hey guys, quick question

On my VEC2, i have the DB9 connection.

What i want to do, is to bring the cable in the cabin so i can tune with the laptop in the car without having to pass a wire by the window.

Here is my question, should i install a new extension cable with 2 DB9 connection at each end or should i just cut the wires between the VEC and the connector and lengthen the wires to the cabin. What have you guys done?

Also, about the ground wire on the connector, which bolt did you attach it to? (Andras, this one's for you )

Should i use a ground in the cabin the closest possible to my Laptop connection?

I extended each wire individually, making one long DB9 cable. I do not see the need for the DB9 outside of the car. The in car cable can be made long enough to hang out of the window if needed. I use the ground bolt behind the front tire for all grounding.
