Vinyl aftermarket stripes?

I was wondering how durable vinyl stripes are? Washing,drying and polishing; I wondered if the edges hold up against the paint? Thank's.

There is different grades of vinyl, the better the grade the easier to apply and remove, also will hold up better to the elements.

I wanted to see what stripes would look like without having them painted on. Early this year I bought a few rolls of vinyl from E-bay until I found the color I wanted. I cut and applied the stripes myself. It took a LOT of time but the end result was worth it. I have around $50 invested in vinyl. The results have been very pleasing and very durable so far. the edges have held up well. I never wash the car with a pressure sprayer though.
