I had a 02 Z06 too, I don't miss it at all! Get the Viper you won't be sorry. The only down side is everyone will want to talk to you about the car, usually when you in a hurry to get somewhere.

VERY true.

I drive my Z06 when I need to run errands and be discreet, can't do that with the Viper. Get's too much attention.

As far as emotion, my palms always got sweaty anytime I took the car out. My son (4 at the time) would quench (sp) his fists anytime we took the car out for a quick spin around town (Lakewood area). The car is simply awesome.

I had a 2001 Z06 and loved it. Owned it for about two years, during which time I autocrossed it every couple months with SCCA and the Corvette Club. Drove it to work on a daily basis.

About six months ago I sold it and bought a '97 Viper GTS and I will never look back. It's hard to explain why I like it so much more than the Vette. It's an emotional attachment, and ultimately, the Viper is much more fun. It's more fun to drive, more fun to look at, more fun to own.

Yeah, the heat issue is overrated. Yeah, it's warmer, but you're not cooking or anything. Big deal. Roll the windows down. And the brakes, get one with ABS, or buy a set of Tom's rear 40mm calipers and put your mind at ease.

I agree Chris. It is an emotional attachment.
I had two 02 Z06's and a 02 C5 Vert. Nice cars, but once I bought the viper I lost all interest in the vette. I don't even pay attention to them when I pass one anymore. Last weekend I passed a viper out on the interstate and damn near wrecked looking at it. As if I don't own one. Hell I own two and I still get excited when I see one out on the road.

Your son would clench his fists and quench his thirst.

Drove the GTS last night to a work get together (about 15 people) and as always, non stop excitement/gawking over the vehicle. Owning this vehicle is so much more than just owning a car. Buy a viper and take it somewhere that there are kids. As they approach with moms & dads, ask them if they want to sit in it. Watch their eyes light up and moms/dads appreciate the gesture. You can tell it makes their day and they probably tell that story to 10 people during their day.

Corvettes and Z06's are awesome cars, period. However, the VIPER EXPERIENCE is second to none. You really just need to drive one around town for a weekend to know.
