This question is not specific enough! For equal $'s spent the Porshe is not close in overall performance. From 98 to 2000, when ORECA was dominating the FIA and ALMS race series, Prosche's never won! The 2001 Viper's performance should be pretty close to the turbo Porsche with excess $'s to buy a Prowler and 4x4 Dakota. My opinion!

In braking, there is no comparison. A new stock Porsche brake system is superior to anything Dodge has put on a Viper. Until the Viper looses weight, it will be underbraked by many other cars.

I suggest Brembo or AP Racing calipers with Alcon rotors, bias valve, Motul 600 fluid, air ducting and Carbotech CT592-HT9 pads.

I know this is old, but I did contact Oreca back in 98 to see what they were doing. Why don't you email them at [email protected] if that is still their address.

Dear Sir,

Sorry to come back to you so late but I have been absent for a long
time.

We only have experience of using 8 pistons Brembo front calipers on 15''
diameter rotors and 4 pistons Brembo rear calipers with 13'' rotors,
this is the specifications we are using on our GT2 cars.
Those parts require specific aluminium hats for rotors and brackets to
allow fitting the calipers. I am not sure if that brake kit suits with
the production wheels, this need to be checked also.

If this is what you are looking for, let us know and we will make you a
proposition .

Best regards.

A . ELIZAGARAY.

Cooray..........

Are you going racing? Will the carbon-disks now used by ORECA be allowed by your sanctioning body? For example, SCCA racing in USA would not ALLOW those choices mentioned!

Are you talking about roadcourse club events?

There are several brake upgrade packages available, including those big $$$ ones mentioned, and some less-expensive others.

No one suggests that Ferrari F-40 brakes are crummy brakes! That is the front OE package of the 92-00 Viper. Magazines that tested Viper vs Porsches found brakes to be inverior, cornering similiart, and acceleration superior, so lap times were "virtually equal" in stock versions of Porsche 911TT and its variants vs Viper. The Turbo S at +50K was best of course.

So, Cooray, what are your plans???? Then we can craft solutions.
