The Annual Car&Driver-Tire Rack One Lap of America kicks off this week at Tire Rack in South Bend, Ind. The links below should get you started on hooking up with some of the activities. Registration will start on Friday May 5, 2006 at Tire Rack with the Skid Pad event taking place there at 9:00 AM Saturday, May 6th.
There are at least 3 Vipers running and many other Dodge products as well. This will be a very interesting field !!!
I plan to catch up with the group on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Putnam Park Road Course. (about 40 miles west of Indy). A few years back, I was able to visit with the One Lap bunch at IRP in Indy when this event ran there...SERIOUS CAR FOLKS will have much to see !!!
I have heard that some of the Corvette folks are getting together in South Bend on Friday night at Quality Inn Hotel...Sorry, no address given.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR OUR LATEST IN/KY VCA MEMBER... Leslie McLaughlin...who will be in South Bend THIS WEEK looking for a house. Leslie plans on attending ALL of the One Lap events this week in South Bend. She will NOT be driving her 2001 sapphire GTS...as she will be driving her BLACK Z-06 Corvette ( you know...probably her "daily driver" !!!). PLEASE look for Leslie and give her a gracious welcome !!!
And, while you are at Tire Rack, please stop in and say "Hi" to IN/KY VCA Honorary Member, Luke Pavlick. As many of you know, Luke is a great guy, top notch driver, and one of the most knowledgeable guys around in motor sports. His tire/wheel advice is always on target, his service is the best,...AND, he always goes to bat for his customers !!!!
