VIPERSPEED'S KNOX AND FIORELLI FINISH 1-2 AT HALLETT
The weekend of April 12th and 13th was another good one for the ViperSpeed team as T1 drivers Dan Knox and Dave Fiorelli finished first and second, respectively, in their Bobby Archer Motorsports/ViperSpeed Vipers in the SCCA T1 National race held on Sunday, April 13th at Hallet Motor Speedway in Oklahoma. It was Knox's second win in a T1 National race after winning a race at Texas World Speedway last year, and was Fiorelli's best-ever finish in a National race. On Saturday at Hallett, Fiorelli drove his Viper to victory in the T1 Regional race, a feat that he had accomplished last year as well.
A few states away, ViperSpeed team boss Bobby Archer found himself behind the wheel of Johnny Yuma's Viper GT-1 for the Viper Days races at Phoenix International Raceway. Archer put on quite a show on a track he had never driven against a field that included seven of the awesome new Viper Competition Coupes (CC's). Bobby finished 3rd in both races (Saturday and Sunday) behind two of the CC's, but ahead of the other CC's in a GT-1 class Viper. Sure would be fun to see what Archer could do in one of the CC's...
Next up for Bobby and the ViperSpeed team is a trip to Mid-Ohio (April 26-27) for a Viper Days / Viper Racing League (VRL) event. All four ViperSpeed drivers (Archer, Deborah Loth, Dan Knox, and Dave Fiorelli) will be competing in the GT-2 class of the VRL in their SCCA T1 class Vipers. Additional scheduled races for the ViperSpeed team include May 3 at Texas Motor Speedway (SCCA), May 24 at Texas World Speedway (SCCA), June 21 at Road America (SCCA June Sprints), Sept. 15 at Mid-Ohio (SCCA Valvoline Runoffs), Oct. 17 at the Motorsport Ranch (VRL), and Nov. 7 at Texas Motor Speedway (VRL).
