Local shop tried vinyl, but they could never make it perfectly straight so I will have it painted. Does anyone know what the actual color code and name is for the silver stripe?

If you are trying to replicate the 1996 GTS look, remove the lock during painting and keep it black. Besides, it'll chip the first time you stick a key in it.

that's call VIPER SILVER, code PA9, and leave keyhole in black, and we have a full set of emblems in stock in the same silver color...it will match up those strips and looks great...pm or e-mail me if you are interest that...thanks

You could get the same silver vinyl stripes cut to 10" width and continue the stripe through the license plate area leaving an inch extra on each side. Then cut to 8" to following the staight line of the existing stripes. Vinyl won't go around curves and stay straight easily.
