Several of our Viper Alumni were there:

Venomlover (Mike)
Socal Rebel (Ron)
Ulysses
Joel (from Ireland)
Kevin
Imsoslo (Ken)
toothdoc58 with his 96 GTS on NOS running in the 10,s (stock plus NOS!)
And a real pretty 01 all Yellow ACR

It was a bunch of fun, with Mik P. (Venomlover) leading the way.
He put down several 11.6xx runs with his 97 GTS.
SoCal put down very respectable 12.3xx with his RT/10
The best I could do was 12.97 with my Z06 ( I think SoCal owes me a beer for that one!)
All in all I would say if you have the chance to run your car - DO IT !!!
Regards,
Steve

Ken,

12.72 is a very respectable time for a barely modified Gen I
Great job! Next Sunday SRA is running the track and I am planning
on going. I hope to see everyone there!

regards,
Steve

Thanks for the fun everyone! It was a blast! I learned a lot from you all.

Leave on the last yellow, don't spin, get a good reaction time.

Shift at ~5000 and get a good 60 ft time.

Let's see... what else did I forget.. OH YEAH! If you ever have a friendly scrimage of football, don't ever pick Mike Pavloff to be the QB!!!!

(Sorry Mike, had to get one last shot, but its all good)

Great Time, glad to finally meet all of you.

Ken,
please, send me the pic. Front, back, no matter, it was fun and I'ld like something to remember it with.

SoCal,
I need to find a track that isnt a motocross/Drag combo before
I'll take the Snake out.
Carlsbad is way to dusty and that dirt road keeps me from taking
that Dark Blue car there. Do you know of any tracks that are
better?
Thanks,
Steve

I had a great time, guys. Likewise, good to meet those of you I haven't seen before. Thanks for the compliments, Steve and Ken. Not much to it, really, when you've got ET streets. So long as you get a solid burnout, launching is so much easier than on street tires. Though, I expect I still would've beaten SoCal Rebell if I had been on street tires, since I've run 12.0 at Cbad on street tires....

Ken, I agree with Steve, 12.7 is nothing to be ashamed of, especially with the track the way it was yesterday.

Ulysses, it is true, you don't want me as your QB! In fact, you don't want me anywhere near your car with blunt objects....

Hope to see you all again soon. I probably won't make the SRA event next weekend, but we'll see.

Can't stand it guys. I will be on the phone tomorrow for the headers and maybe flywheel/gears. Really want to take Socal with an old slow GenI. Only 0.4 sec away

Yeah it was alot of fun, got a little too hot but fun. It was great meeting all of you I've never met but talked with on this board.

2charmed,

Great to hear you broke into the 12s with the "sled". I don't know about that beer though, I gave you 6/10s you turned a 12.97 I turned 12.371, it all depends on that last 1/1000 digit. And oh yeah I turned a .501 light.

SoCal,
My time was 12.972 so that makes the differance .601 tenths
differance! But hey if your down and out I'd be glad to buy the
beer. Are you up to it again this Sunday?
Regards,
Steve

It did get hot. It must have been in the high 80's low 90's. Not the ideal environment. Man, I spent the rest of the day getting rid of the dust. Cleaned out my air filters and it was caked with dust.

You know, when you visit a place they say that you take a little of that place home with you. Well, I took a lot of Carlsbad home with me.

Good for you, Ken! I think SoCal better watch out for you next time we go back to Carlsbad as well! We all know that SoCal can be beat at WSIR by a less powerful car, as I demonstrated in my Z06 in our last outing there.

Note, however, that SoCal continues to ignore this reality when he makes bizarre claims, such as:

"I have never been beat by a Z06 and have raced many on the track"

This is a direct quote from the "Another Viper vs. Z06 Spat..." thread. I dunno, SoCal, you tell me what you think, but I think I beat you at WSIR in my Z06.....

Go get him, Ken!!!
