Sorry for the long delay but I went to the dealer and they tried to install the CD Changer but it did not work. They said that this is the CD Changer for the Jeep SUV's. I told them that this is the one I was told to purcahse but it does not work they say. The said that the one that works costs $450.00 plus labor. I said for that amount I could change the head unit and get a 6 or 12 disc changer installed. I feel that is a bit too much. That would be over $700.00 after labor. I think I will pass and just get a new unit.

When did the stock Alpine radio get the speed sensitive volume feature? What year. My 94 Gen I does not have this but I'd love to have it too. Can a later year with this be retrofitted into a Gen I? Anyone have an extra Alpine radio with this feature left over from an aftermarket radio upgrade?

I would think that there's a connection to the PCM to monitor vehicle speed. It may be very difficult to retrofit a system if you don't have the existing wiring.
