What are these things called?

Check out the pic...am trying to find out more about the "ribs" behind the front fender. They look pretty cool, and am wondering where to find them. FYI - I couldn't find anything on the "Search" feature.

(No worries...am not going to "bling" out my car, but just wondering about some exterior mod options, someday...)

Not sure of the technical name but every time I've seen them, people call them gills. You might search on that. From what I remember reading, nobody is currently making them. Not positive though.

I think they take away from the best part of the exterior--the smooth curve. Be glad you can't find them... I don't think you would like them once they were on your car.

i'm not fond of them, I have always seen them painted a different color than the car, maybe they will look like they belong if them are the same color as the viper

They were called "Shark Gills" or side-strake gills. Originally made by Metalcrafters, then Elite (still in biz?!?!?!?) copeid em. Never did fit 2000+

They block airflow from the hood...... "Look Cool - Run Hot"
