Looks like an off/city/highway switch for a remote radar detector - looks similar to the one I have for a K40.

Stout 1, it appears to be a K40 radar detector knob. The outside ring switches it from city to highway. The center knob adjusts the volume. The "white dot" lights up orange for city and green for highway. Of course since they are not allowed in Kalifornia I am just guessing. ;-)

Earlier Snakes had that shiffter (ex. Gen1) not sure up untill what year.
I would definately want to know what that switch is for. Lord only knows what the hell the previous owner used it for.
