If you have a chance, I am also interested in the following on the Belanger header installs:

1. If high-flow cats were installed? (I will need these).

2. Was heat greater or less with the Headers?

3. How is the overall noise level? Stock the car is prettly loud in the cabin.

4. Is there any resonance (drone) on light throttle roll-ons? This is VERY common with headers.

5. Any "check engine lights"?

6. All installs without computer programming?

7. Approximate SAE rwhp and rwtrq gains.

Call the manufacturer himself and ask him : Lou Belanger
623-582-5900
He has all the test results from the various performance companies. You won't be disappointed! Heat is LESS with the headers and full exhaust. RWHP & Torque gain is subject to the environmental factors as you already know, however Lou can give you the average gains, that have been relayed to him by the installers.
Also, Belangers are the ONLY headers without a check engine light issue! No need for any computer programming, because there isn't any that can be done at this point in time. The computers must be read by a specific program which only certain "people" have, and they are NOT any of the aftermarket companies.

1. The high flow cats come with the Belanger package unless you choose not to.
2. You could feel heat escaping from under the hood vents but no increase at all inside the car.
3. You can carry on a normal conversation with the windows up as long as you are not lugging it below 1500 rpm. With the Windows down you will need to raise your voice but not shout. At WOT you should just shut up.
4. Yes some but no more than any other, not obnoxious.
5.No lights!
6. No way to program the PCM but it will learn to optimize the headers after a couple hundred miles.
7. We have seen 50 rwhp on our Mustang dyno and that will increase after a few miles of "learning". So you are looking at 63 hp to start and probably 70-75 when broke in at the crank of course.

Very nice gains!

I am hugely anti-resonance so I am going to see how things go until I can actually ride in some '08s with headers.

Sounds like a good package though! Thanks again for the information.

I just last week, had that system put on my 06.If I get how you feel about the noise from what you have written, then you really need to ride in a car that has done the same as me.Some major areas (RPM's) that is loud.I'm learning how to drive around the Drone.Great sound at idle.TOM.

PartsRack has sold quite a few COMPLETE SYSTEMS with cats and cat-back, that were installed in 5 States. We have seen 2 - 3 initial instances of TEMPORARY CELS. Cooler sills and footwell, no re-program needed ( the Viper does some adapting on its own) The low end thru cruise is mellow and conversational loudness. Stereo and Cell phone tolerant. The V-10 will always have some low-end DRONE unless CORSA-Fied.

We TRY to keep at least one complete 08 system on the shelf at all times.

RICH on the SRT thread posted his 1st-hand comments. Another just emailed this comment:

""Thanks Jon....just drove the new ACR with the Belangers. You were right it sounds totally different: a little italian, a little warmer, more melodic, but with a banshee like high pitch at the top end.. The power is very noticeable and rather shocking with a whole bunch more mid range!.....""
