I am thinking of incorporating my 5th and 6th gear into regular drive gears with my T56. I currently have 1000hp/800 ftlb at the crank. that may go up a few % with a touch more boost.

I was thinking if I ditched my 3.08 gears for something in the 4.33 range, I could move better on the street, and still have my 150 mph 1/4 mile gearing in 5th, and a Maxton 200 MPH 'ish gear in 6th.

I realize 5th gear is commonly used with close to 1500 hp, but what about 6th? Can anyone think of downsides?? My one piece cluster looks up to the task.

Anyone know anyone who might know??

Yes, 5th will handle the power. 6th is pretty strong too considering it's size. You can contact John Donato at Donato engineering for more precise responses. John is a trans engineer for SRT / Viper. [email protected]

With that kind of power, you won't want to change your rear gear ratio and if you do, I'd go down into the high "2" range.
