Wipers - Work on wash, no other settings

Weird issue... my wipers don't work at all when setting them to intermittent, low or high. No noise, no movement, nothing... however, when I press the washer, the fluid flows and the wipers make 2 or 3 passes as expected. Hoping this isn't the stalk or switch going bad... any ideas what may be wrong?

If it helps, It's a 2002 ACR with 3200 miles... has sat a bunch of its time so far. The high beams didn't work at first either. I had to give them a series of positive pulls on the stalk to get the switch working. Now the high beams work but still not the wipers. Wiper

You likely will need new stalk -- had this go on my 2000 and fiddling with it did not fix anything. Just an age thing , but get it into a shop for a check.
