Of course since I bought my 06' Viper Coupe new in November, 2006, it means plates come in the middle of Winter and same with the dreaded Colorado Emissions Test, if required. Well Colorado moved up the years for testing since new, from five (5) years to four (4) and of course these are model years, not years owned since purchase, as I have only owned the car for a 38 months. This meant Emissions Test Required this year, by one (1) month into January. Damn!

Anyway, we are between storms here and after a weekend in the 50's, THE MOTHER cleared the roads up enough to get the car out for the three (3) mile drive to the emissions testing station. Of course I am riding on one (1) cheek thinking that my nice two (2) year old full Bellanger Exhaust System (Headers, High Flow Cats, Cat-back with no cross over) are going to give me a headache right when I don't need it. Only thing going for me is Dodge Engineering and 3,594 miles on the odometer. I mean I was annoyed enough that I had to take the car out of storage to run this silly emissions test in the first place.

So I get there and the line up is out of the building and down around the corner. Great! Well, this young guy who looks about 16, comes waving his arms and pulling cones aside to wave me to an open booth immediately bypassing everyone. Hey, things are looking up!

First step is visual inspection for Cats, PASSED of course. He then pulls my car onto the dyno. I know what you are thinking and I have the iPhone already running video to witness the carnage. Well, I am happy to report that this young 18 year old was absolutely great and treated the car with the utmost respect. Car passed the rolling dyno test with great numbers:

1. HC gpm - Reading 0.4506, Colorado Limit is 1.2000 (PASSED)
2. CO gpm - Reading 4.5271, Colorado Limit is 15.000 (PASSED)
3. CO2 gpm - Reading 479.6283, Colorado limit is pass/fail (PASSED)
4. NOx gpm - Reading 0.4057, Colorado Limit is 1.5000 (PASSED)
5. Catalytic Converter - Read by State computer, Colorado limit is pass/fail (PASSED)
6. Oxygen Sensor - Read by State Computer, Colorado limit is pass/fail (PASSED)
7. Check Engine Light - Read by State Computer and visual inspection, Colorado limit is pass/fail (PASSED)
8. Evaporative System - Gas Cap Leakage Test - Reading 3.22, Colorado limit is 6.00 (PASSED)

So I am good for another two (2) years now before the next test. Would like to thank Lou Bellanger for an absolutely great exhaust system. I should have never doubted you.

Hope the numbers help others to understand where the cars run at with the Bellanger full exhaust system on, at least an 06' and here in the Rockies.

Car is back in storage all tucked in (battery tender running) awaiting for Mother nature to smarten up. Wonder how it will do with a Roe Blower system on it. Sean where is the blower system at?
