I don't see them much around. There's a few hand full of us that used to be regular posters but I see a lot of usernames I have not seen before. Guess we have a new Generation of people on here eh?:)

I was just thinking it's been a long time since I saw a post by Bonkers.

AB, when you getting back in the seat of a Viper? What have you been fabricating lately?

...I have been around since the first board (7-8-9 years ago, maybe longer ?), when you could type in the name of a tuner without it being turned into xxxxxxxx...... my name has been slightly changed several times,

...I too have noticed many of the names I used to see don't post anymore, enthusiasm wears off I suppose:drive:

Matt..508 post? LOL! Just kidding! Oct 2000 was a good year eh?

Tom good to see you on here!!

Yeah, lots of people who remembered my racoon eyes event :crazy2: are the original OG's on this board. :rolaugh:

Rocket, I am working on it. I have to build another garage here shortly. Then I will look for a Viper to tinker with. I haven't fabricated anything...just taking apart crappy Italian cars..LOL!

I ran into Leslie on the Vette forums, she seems to be doing well. Bonkers, unfortunately, bid farewell to the forum over a disagreement with site policy.

He posts on "another site" somewhat regularly. I like Bonk, we dissagreed sometimes, but I respect he wasn't afraid to express his opinion. He is a stand up guy. I dont know if he even looks here anymore. He does still have his car.

I just happened to look, "joined date" Oct 2000. I can't believe it has been that long. AB joined the same time.

Hey Rocket62, where are all the other Vipers here in eastern Iowa. I have yet to see another when out with mine. Would love to get hooked up with some other owners around here. Cruises, get togethers, etc. What are your thoughts?

My theory is that people start out here and learn a lot from every one else but then it gets stale and you don't keep progressing. That's why I don't post as much anymore.

Most of the topics are rehash of the same things over and over again.:bdh: That's why I suggested when the site was remodeled that the search function improved on. I'm not sure it's really improved that much and obviously not many people use it.

Wow, I guess Oct 2000 was a really good month.

Still here...I can only deal with the old and stale.."How many people like Cognac interior" thread for so long.

I was a member under a different user name, and posting as far back as at least 1996, ..don't remember when I joined the first time.

The problem with over doing the Did you use the Search feature ?! reply is that you-or one of the other members just might miss a newer and better way of doing something that's been discovered recently.

Otherwise the board would mostly just be an archive of dated methods and techniques. Then it would be flat boring. Some chatter is better than none. If you find it stale - contribute some news of what you're doing, reading about-performance wise etc

On the other side of the coin, hop up ideas outside the usual "which bolt on should I buy?", often fail to generate any interest at all. Can't imagine why. On most any other car performance forum, innovative ideas, no matter how small the gain, are devoured, tried, modified etc.

There seems to be more interest towards aftermarket bolt ons rather than new innovations.. I guess everyone's waiting for the Viper-taxed widget?

Obviously you have not tried to type a tuner name in lately. No worries on that issue anymore.
And the search engine has been improved, and we are gonna work on ol' Bonkers to get him back. :2tu:

Forget all that.
The most important missing person is the one and only "kgrif".
Yes thats right.
He started the "How about sharing some chick \ Viper pic" thread.
STILL going strong and originally posted 9/2004!!

All others pale beside this genius.

Adam, ALL,
Note my Avatar -- Also Oct. 2000, Yes, I've been here a while.
Seems like the questions we asked way back then are now being 'recycled' by a number of the "new Generation"

Later,
Don

I have been here a while but only recently became a Viper owner/VCA member.

I met Bonkers at the VCA Crab Cruise when I picked my car up. He must at least lurk since he knows about the events.

I have also seen Leslie around here once in a while.

Who are you looking for? :dunno:

Did you check on fordgtforum.com or ferrarichat.com? :lmao: That is the general progression isn't it?

I find I spend more time here now. The Alley's lost more of the "original's" than here. Mood swings I guess? LOL

Not one of the OG's, but I miss Roofum. I'm not an OG myself, but whatever happened to Gerald? I remember he used to post a lot and I think he was friends with Chuck...Chuck still posts every now and then, but I've only seen one post from Gerald in prob the last 2 years? And that was actually pretty recent..maybe a few weeks?? My guess would be a lot of guys sell their Vipers due to various reasons and quit coming to the site

I actually think the "view" total is low. Seems as though I remember it was over 100k! I was thinking when they redid the board a few months ago, the view counts on some threads may have been messed up.

does it count that the person I bought my Viper from was a member of the board, then when I bought it I registered on the board and he fell off...? Changing of the guard?
