I've spent 14 years dreaming of owning a Viper and have had one for less than a month. I'm never giving it up!

What's the matter with you? You didn't start dreaming in 1992, or even before that when the concept came out? :lmao:

Congrats on your dream and your efforts to make it a reality!

well if it is it means goodbye to viper from dodge but it will make the vipers of today alot more expensive to fix and bring the value of existing vipers up up up !!!

My comment was more towards the long term investment. I hope Dodge or someone continues to make the Viper.... I want to be able to buy a new a brand new one at some point in my life.

Do you have a source on this article? I have a 94 RT/10 and the 12th 96 GTS built and would like to have a copy.

You may also want to find out how Barrett Jackson sold a 92 RT 10 in an auction in July since they don't have one in July?

Scottsdale in January, Palm Beach in April, Vegas in October.
No July. I also can't find any record of any 92 RT/10 selling for 144K.

However many model year Vipers are already appreciating and yes I agree we should keep our gen 1s.
:)

14 years!!!:omg: im at 11!

Keep the dream alive man :2tu: you'll get there soon enough!

That is hard to argue with, but it was slightly due to age and my foggy memory. I remember having a poster of a red gen 1 in my room before moving to Ohio in 96, so I'm guessing it's been about 14 years. I was only 6 when the original concept came out so I wasn't really watching the car market at the time. I was a full fledged Viper nut by the time the GTS came out though, and I haven't been able to kick that since :rolaugh:

Barrett Jackson does have an archive on their websight and the highest an 92/RT10 ever sold for was 72K right after they were first offered to the public in January 93. The next highest sale for a 92/RT10 was in 1999 for 57K. I know a 98 GT 2 sold for around 150K a few years back at BJ as well.

Great information! I have a 98 Gen II RT and purposely searched for a low mileage car (bought with 5,200mi). I too dreamed of owning a Viper pretty much when they came out in '92/'93, but really was more of a dream as I never really thought it would fit into my life back then.

But.....some dreams come true and my wife surprised me with my RT in May as an early birthday present (July). This will be my one and only Viper (two young kids) and will over time, made the mods that I think I would enjoy.

In 2025, hopefully it will have increased value and my wife can do as she wishes with it. Help pay for college! I'll probably be too old to drive it.

Thanks.

Peter

Vipzilla,
Not trying to shoot the messenger. I just try to pay close attention to the Viper market and 144K for a 92 would be earth shattering news and I didn't feel the earth move out here? Haven't heard about such a sale either. Personally I hope its true, but its highly unlikely bordering on alien abduction territory. LOL

If there is anyone who thinks its true I will happily sell my 92 with 400 miles with the window sticker still affixed to the window at a 50% discount for 75K

Ok on a side note...

Les, that is an amazing collection of Vipers you have there! Do you have any group shots of them?

Stretch,

Thanks for the compliment. No I don't have any group shots. Trying to acquire warehouse space so they are not all jammed right next to each other. The Vegas commericial realtors still haven't heard about the recession yet.

Well that is a bummer, but hopefully it will work out for you.

If you ever do get a group shot together I'd love to see it.
