Seriously...each to his own but the only interior color should be black IMHO. That color does not belong in a viper-ever..looks like someone literally threw up inside.

Anyone else agree? disagree? why or why not.

I would pay alot more money to not have that color interior.I just cannot understand it.:dunno::crazy2:

I happen to like the Connoly interior, but not with all exterior colours. With dark green exterior (old GEN 1's), it looks great.
It would be pretty boring to see only black interiors, remember GEN 1's, only grey...
Simply just pay more for black, I am sure there are many who will happily comply with your wishes.
Having a bad day?:rolaugh:

And your reply is unusually rude... The guy was just asking a question. Here's mine - why does owning exotic sports cars make people think they have to act like a butthole?

I HAVE Connely Leather and I don't particularly care for it. It does go well with the black exterior in sunlight, but in a garage he's exactly right - I used the analogy once that it looks like a cat puked all over my interior. I've already started collecting parts to replace it with black - steering wheel and gearshift knob. I was actually thinking of getting the doors, carpet and center console reupholstered in cobalt blue. Just a thought. No need to insult me for having a thought...

Try to keep up.

The OP's post about Connely leather looking like puke is pretty insulting to someone who has the color and likes it. In other words, your car looks like shiit and you have no taste. It's like the other threads knocking a particular color which some delight in doing.

Please explain the reason that someone has to start a thread that basically insults other Viper owners and or their cars.

I'm trying to grasp the satisfaction in that, maybe you can enlighten us rookie.

Jeff,

If you are interested in changing the interior, I know someone reasonably local that can recover the seats, console and door panels etc. I took the parts and dropped them off at his shop in Northern PA and he got it done nicely.

I changed mine out a couple years ago. Cost was not really that bad either. He has done 3 of the PA Vipers that I know of.
Also, I definitely think the Gen II Connely is much nicer than the old, color is richer too.

Before,

After

Took out 1970's fuzzy carpet and covered bottom door panel.

I Love Red vipers with white or black stripes :)

--------------------------------------------------

I like the Cognac Leather(what i call it) on a few colors:
Green, Graphite, SteelGray, SappireBlue
I think it looks nice and classy with these darker colors bringng an added elegance to them.

For my two cents, I had an opportunity to buy a sapphire blue 2001 RT/10 with that interior...the car was stunning, but I do see where you're coming from. I personally do not like (no insult intended to anyone) red or yellow with that interior. I passed on a number of RT's because of this color combination.

I also think it looks quite good with black.

Why I didn't buy the sapphine???? It had a terrible history or being moved from wholesaler to wholesaler, 9 different times if I recall correctly.....looked to me like a disaster.

I also like the black interior with yellow trim shown above.

Lastly, I totally agree with ViperJohn......color is totally a personal taste thing and what looks bad to one person looks great to another. A post like this can only result in a number of insulted members....and, is that what this site is for?????? At the end of the day, its a Viper....no matter what color outside or inside, its hand made and unique.....PERIOD!

I gotta gree this thread is rude and totally useless. We're all entitled to opinions, but just because you don't like something, you dont need to make a thread bashing those who do. If I had my pick, I'd take a black interior, but if someone gave me a connolly leather interior Viper, I'd gladly drive the wheels off of it.

I actually think the Connely looks decent with a "Solid Red" car... I almost bought a Solid Red 2001 w/ Connely back in 2002.. And I have to say, it looked pretty classy, when new.. But I've seen some with "wear" that look kind of rough..

To each their own.. Its not that bad. If I had purchased the connely car. No way I swap it out.. Not worth the agg.

COULDN'T have said it better:2tu:

it seems recently there's been a host of threads started based COMPLETELY on bashing someone's Viper.

I mean come on now, this is a SMALL community compared to my corvette groups, I hang here because I feel comradery and people absolutely love their cars, but this thread goes too far, JMHO.

These are exotic cars, they are special, many are numbered and few in combination and we need to respect everyone's choice AND the color combo's Dodge has created:headbang:

Try to keep up.

I think red 1993 Gen. I Vipers with 2002 18" OEM wheels, chrome badges and a few bolt-ons ****. WHO WOULD EVER WANT A CAR WITH A REAR ANTENNAE AND A SMOOTHIE HOOD!? I'm going to go lay down in traffic...

There is only one way to settle this debate, and that's with a ******* pillowfight. See you at high noon.

He didn't "bash" a member's Viper - he stated his opinion against a color. Funny how we're all quick to ***** about our right to buy guns but no one is allowed to speak freely - an ammendment to our constitution written BEFORE the right to bare arms.

And personally, insulting a color is a long ways away from insulting a PERSON. His comment was not deliberately aimed at anyone - yours was. But maybe you're right - I'm after all just a "rookie," aren't I? I've only had my Viper for twenty days. Granted, my mother taught me manners when I was just a child...

All that being said, ACELLR8, thanks so much for the pictures. Was the previous tan lighter in color? See I think I'd like that better than the almost-orange tint that the Connely has. I'll send you a PM for more information.

Uh...this isn't quite that dramatic. No need to drag the Constitution into a debate on interior colors!

What everyone is saying is no good will come of this thread. It's basically trolling. If he was truly interested in the appeal of a certain color or combination, it would have been approached differently.

"I've personally always liked the black interiors on our cars. Would anyone with a Connolly interior care to chime in on what appealed to them about that setup vs the black? Thanks in advance!"

It doesn't have to be QUITE so sugar-coated, but an innocent thread with an intent that WASN'T malicious would have been a little better thought-out. That's all we're saying.

FYI, I exercise my right to BARE arms too...VIVA LA SLEEVELESS SHIRTS!

I agree with TAXIMAN. I looked exclusively for a red RT/10 with the Connolly leather interior as that is ALL I wanted (there are not many GENII's with that color combo). I already had a blue sports car (Dodge Stealth) with an all black interior and personally think the Connolly leather interior looks stunning with an all red, black, or Saphire blue car. As has already been stated, color options are just that, options, because everybody does not have the same taste. I have had quite a few people, including Viper owners, who have said the interior looks great with the red car.

I like Jennifer Connelly. She is welcome in the stead of my black interior any day. She is pretty and plays nice people in motion pictures. If only her arms were made of bears, I would ask her to be my ladyfriend.

Hey bud - have any pictures of that red-n-tan? I'd like to see it. Glad to see another PA Viper - I RARELY see them in Harrisburg.

I was one of the fortunate 50 Viper owners that was able to order the 2009 Viperama package with the TARP "Gettin' the Green" interior package.

I have a black car with connolly int and love the contrast it gives the car. At first when I was looking for a viper all I wanted was an all black 99 or 00 RT/10. The color combo just grew on me and I ended up buying a 99 black connolly RT. I am not insulted at all by his post by the way. It was actually a $3000 option on the car in 99 I think, someone correct me if I am wrong because that happens quite often.

thats my opinion.I'm trying to see what others like about the color..thats all.I respect the owners choice in cars..a VIPER...just asking why that color vs. black.Sorry about the puke comment but I have heard that alot and just used it.Sorry if I offended anyone.

It just looks like that color should be in a European car I guess.A Porsche or some Jaguar for example.
