I'm looking at a 2008 SSG w/ black stripes with navigation, 5-spoke wheels, good paint and interior with 13,*** miles. It was turned in from a lease apparently, but who ever had it sure put some miles on it in a year. It doesn't need to be exact, but I'm a GTS guy so looking for a ballpark value from the SRT-10 crowd. Thanks in advance!

That car is a mid $50s car with normal colors but might bring a few thousand more for SSG. I would not pay over $58K but that is just me.

I had never seen a SSG car in person until today and it is certainly VERY eye-catching. It might be a "love it or hate it" type of color, but there is no question that you can see these Vipers coming from a mile away. I don't think pictures on the web do these cars justice....

Personally, I'd shoot for one with very low miles since I like to be the one breaking it in. There are some on the classifieds that are low mile cars, and Aspirations is selling one with less than 200 on the clock (he's got an ACR on order).

I have not seen any priced in the 50's, the only negative about the car is the high miles, and it could have been abused as a lease? Seems like anyting in the 50's is a steal??:dunno:

Soooo....this particular dealer is asking $71995 which I found this to be a bit high in my opinion considering I was looking at a NEW 2009 last week for $77,000! I'm sure they've got to be negotiable from their asking price, but this has to be on the high side I'd think for a 13K mile car. I'm sure I already know, but your thoughts anyone???

It may actually be a fair price considering the market, but I sure would like to see it dip into the 60's at least considering the mileage.

Ultimately, I guess you never know with used cars...but I may pursue it a little further today.

Anyone happen to know production numbers of this color combo in 2008? And here's a picture of the car...

I would say mid to high 50's for a car with 13k miles. But then again im basing all of this off of my recent purchase, so I may be a bit biased.

You need to check the history on that one, low vin #, may have been a dodge test car. The one in the classifieds was a test car, tracked by journalists, that was on the cover of Road and Track a year ago.

If you willing to spend 72K, spend a little more and buy the 900 mile car in MT with the headers, its a much better deal now and in the future. Good luck.

Thanks guys! One other thing that a reputable person brought up to me in a PM...is there any way to ID if a car has been a Dodge test car or a SRT experience car. I have no reason to believe this at this point, but if there is a way to positively ID this I'd love to know.

Also, what constitutes a low VIN car anyway? What numbers should I be looking at? Any other tell-tale signs of abuse specific to a Gen IV car?

That car sold from Palmer Dodge and got something close to that if I recall correctly. $73K for a 13K SSG car is insaine!
73k is cheap thats 20k under a new one ,viper owners that want to sell need to keep a certain price and not go down so much and keep the value up,its zr1 performance half the cost.the viper needs to keep its value its an amazing car .thats why im on my 5th one

Also check with Woodhouse. They had a 2800 mile SSG with BLK for $72K about a month ago.

Find out who was the orginal owner, was it Chrysler Motors?

I think the last 3 digits of this vipers vin is 117, while not built in sequence, the last numbers do give insights to when built. Most of the SRT cars are #50 to #60, cars like the other viper referenced are #70's-#80.
