Source kdaviper wrote that the upcoming SRT Viper was likely to get a price increase to around $137,000, around $44,000 more than the 2010 model, which listed at $93,000 including destination and gas guzzler tax (thanks oh20, for the reminder); many Vipers were sold with the $14,550 ACR package.

The new Viper is likely to have expensive upgrades to its interior, chassis, and possibly its powertrain, as GM, Ford, and others continue to add horsepower and pricey, weight-reducing materials and construction methods in the supercar race.

While the Grand Cherokee SRT8 leaped in price as well from 2010 to 2012, sales have apparently remained strong.

The 2013 SRT Viper (née Dodge Viper) is expected to be shown later this year, most likely with a private preview for the Viper Club of America followed by a public unveiling at a major car show — Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles, with most speculators believing New York will provide the best exposure and timing. The car is, like the most recent Vipers, to be built at the Conner Avenue plant.

its probably best that its priced out of my range....back in 87 when i first saw one in the magazines and then in 92, i couldnt afford one. now in 2012, i wont be able to afford a new one either. the higher price is going to keep it a goal for jerks like me and in 2-3 years, i can swing it used....

What goes around comes around.

We in the VCA forums are latching on any bit of gossip we find, and to hell with checking the validity of the source. (If it's in print it has to be real, right?)

I can't believe they posted that based on a random message board post...

If I ever had any faith in them before, it's certainly gone now

Wow. Allpar quoting us? I'm checking the site then to see if red vipers are listed as slower than yellow ones. :D

Bottom line is right now everything is speculation. We know it will cost more than a gen 4. It's a given. However I would be surprised if anyone at SRT would have leaked info on pricing. I have been lucky enough to meet much of SRT. They are fantastic people with respect to Mopar and Viper. They did not leak pics, info, etc over the last few month, why now?

Right now everything is rumor. Same as some of the rumors that floated after the showing at VOI. Rumors even saying they never actually showed the car there! Lol

Until the car is shown and info is released, don't get your ******* in a bunch. And even if the car did come in at that price, remember SRT gives you great value and content. The current line up should give a good example. If they do come in at that price, we are ALL going to be saving up for one of these bad ass gut flatteners. :yay:

Why this was posted here in the first place by the OP is beyond me. All of that info has been posted here NUMEROUS times, and on top of that can ALL be found in about three of the top threads right now. It's so annoying that some of the members here don't READ or SEARCH before posting. Its just recycled material.

One more thing... Like many have said, it's all RUMORS. Next time post some real Dodge released news that hasn't been posted here hundreds of times in a weeks time.

Bahahahaha. Worst of all, they used ME as a source! I was just trying to kick up some dust and get input from a few of the local engineers.

This was actually quoted from ALLBAR, as there must have been some heavy drinking going on for this latest rumor. Suffice to say that the anticipation of the new Snake is really building , as the rumors tend to get wilder and wilder.

Glad to sense the excitement but geez, we look like DC "insiders", Corvette owners, or a roomful of women playing bunco...

I Hope its all hybe and BS. But, a loaded up 12' ZR1 stickers for $134,995 (ctsy:kerbeck.com). So that said, I would think this new Viper will have to be very close to that range, no?

Until it is released than I will believe it. Not buying the price hike. The article makes zero sense as presented.

If thats really true its a Porsche GT3 for me at that price. Lets hope its more near a respectable $110k
While I seriously question if that will be the price, I agree that for that price, there are better options.

ZR1 is overpriced.

Yes, I agree 100% the ZR1 is overpriced... BUT..... they are selling them, and making a ton of them at that figure....... NO they are not selling like Hot cakes for $10k over, anymore. BUT Kerbeck does not have a single (leftover) 2011 ZR1 sitting on the lot, only 2012's. Can't argue with that.

YET Baxter STILL HAS 2009 Vipers.... So obviously the market DOES in fact support that price for a ZR1, whether we agree or not.

IF the Gen5 lives up to all the hype. It will be well in the $100's.... It will have to be, based on the comparables alone.

Left over 2011 ZR1's were going for $106k as of Dec. The sticker on the car was $124k. So they are not flying off the shelves. I almost bought one but passed.

I don't believe that Dodge would think they could increase the price that much. However, if they did it would make my decision easier. I would keep my 2008 Viper ACR that I paid 97k & not upgrade. Also, 2012 ZR!'s with the upgraded interior have an MSRP of 124k but they are mostly being discounted. I recently saw a New 2011 ZR1 with the upgraded interior selling for 100k- 20k plus under the original MSRP.

I would be willing to bet pricing has not even been set as of yet. Look how long it took for pricing to come out on the Jeep it came out 2 months before the truck hit the lots and then one month before the price was increased. I would say with that in mind we wont know the cost of this car until september. My bet is that the base price will come in between $108,000-112,000.

I can guarantee you they know what pricing will be. They had to run many financial models to get this vehicle back in production.

Having to add nannies, upgrading interiors etc I am not sure how SRT could sell it for much under 130k. Probably part of the reason Dodge is out of the equation . I don't mind the 130 as long as in 2 years it is not 90.

I agree that Dodge knows, but I seriously doubt that Allpar knows any better than us what the pricing will be. Next thing you know Allpar will be posting a photo of the 2013 Viper..:nono:
