We got cars, we got pricing,......When do you think we will see it?

Is there a drop dead date to be a SRT dealer to get a 2013 viper?

Very curious to see what SoCal dealers will pay the $25,000?? & investment in training to step up....

I hope they have a website where prospective buyers and enthusiasts can view this info. A 25k surcharge just to be authorized to sell the new viper ain't chump change... {..Hint..Hint..this when the guys from WoodHouse dodge should chime in to answer this }...

Just curious..who's paying to train the technicians on the new Viper..is it free or does the dealership foot the bill?..I wonder..maybe that's what the 25k surcharge is for?

It will be chump change when you consider the "Premium" you'll be expected to buy one at first.

Local chevy dealer was charging $25k markup on the ZR1 first year it was out around here.

Hopefully not all do.

Dealerships still have to pay to send the Techs to schools throughout the training classes.

And yet dealers could knock 12, 15 and 20K off sticker on the Gen 4's and still make money.
An optioned out Gen 5 GTS at MSRP will have 25K profit in it.

Jon, Chrysler stepped in and provided strong dealer cash ($10K ?) to clear out the '09 Gen IV's. They did this on the '06 coupes and 05 verts too. They do that when sales are soft, no orders or a dealer buried in prior year models. Gross profit on a '10 ACR is maybe $6-7K plus 3% holdback.

So is the 25K the right to have/sell the car? Then I think..... the SRT thought is to upgrade a corner of the dealership to "SRT standards". What does that cost the dealer?

Then:

Training
Tools
$25K right to sell fee
Dealership showroom upgrade

=$100K to sell the Viper is the actual dealer costs?

100K is not a issue to these big dealers. It is a investment in their future and will be well worth it to be able to sell new Vipers and SRTs.Just like VOI,you have to pay to get in the door.

Training will be both for Techs and for Sales. A preliminary training session was already done for some techs in the Country and it will open for others in the near future. SRT will be also doing a Sales Training Seminar in the very near future, too. By the time this is all done, most Dealerships will likely have 3-5 individuals in the Sales and Technician side trained for the new Viper and SRT product line.

Woodhouse , of course , has well over 30 years of Viper experience in the shop, but it will be highly beneficial for Viper owners to be able to find routine service Nationwide -- as many of you have complained this has been an issue for a long time and SRT should be applauded for addressing it fully.

30 years of Viper experience?! I think you mean 20 :)

By this time, I think dealerships shoul've announced whom is going to sell the Gen V..

That's what seems to be the problem...Trying to find a local dealership near you with qualified technicians to service your new Viper. Hopefully by the time SRT authorizes dealerships to sell the Gen V; there will be some type of system in place based on your location or regional zone that will limit the distance you have travel to get your car serviced. If that can't be accomplished, then at minimum; all or part of associated costs to transport your car to the closest dealership should either be covered by your warranty or SRT....Guess we're gonna have to wait and see how this new SRT Help Service handles this issue...

YES!

That is the point..... Thank you! Ralph says December to release....that is only 3 months away. You would THINK the dealers would have been announced and deposits plunked down. Then Team Viper would know how many to build. Dosen't make good buisness sense does it?

I think Bill is referring to the total number of years of experience of the techs in the shop.

Ummm...5 Viper Techs-each with 6 years experience is 30 years of Viper experience. Bill can change those variables to suit his techs, but that is what he is getting at.

So has any Southern California dealership stepped up to the plate yet? What about the new DC Performance?. Can a non-selling entity do warranty service like he had done in the past?
