Stopped in to say a hi to our new countryside neighbor, what a great guy, even said that I could take it out for a drive after meeting him for the first time.

It was just cool that he's an enthusiast to take any time whatsover to chat with a knucklehead middle class guy like myself, obviously more wealthy, just a great genuine fellow, about the same age as me in his 40s. He also has a new Aston Martin Vantage in the garage, so it was easy enough for me to stir up a conversation since I was a designer for the Aston Martin One-77, etc.. and he just ordered the new spider version of the McLaren.

Cheers,
Mike

Their great cars, but I think the new 458 Just beats it in my book :D

I get to hang around with a great bunch of guys in the UK, one of these guys could not make his mind up which was better, the 458 or the MP412C Mclaren...So he bought both (in Black)!

I kid you not! He's a really nice guy too :)

Nice pics, thanks for posting.

Funny that after all these years the RT10 still holds its own when parked next to such exotics as the McLaren.

Great to hear of a down-to-earth supercar owner. Really ***** when they're arrogant (often accompanied by ignorant as well). All the comparos I've seen put the 458 ahead of the 12-C but eveybody swwons for the driveability of the McLaren. 0-60 in 3-flat is pretty frikkin good for me! Thanks for sharing

Very cool to meet a wealthy, down to earth car enthusiast... met a guy at VOI that had Gen IV ACR, Benz SLR, Aventador, GTR, Gallardo, Aston Martin, ZR1 and a Ford GT. I'm going to be out his way later this year and he wanted me to look him up so I could take his Aventador for a spin.

I looked at a McClaren in the Dallas dealer a few weeks back (looking only, that's for sure!) and what an engineering marvel. Their 'own' engine after having used BMW so successfully before. Product specialists kept telling me how much better it rode than my other car, and urged for a test drive. The cars are finished so nicely - - underneath, behind trunk carpet where no one would look.

I agree the Viper looks right at home with it! Car guys are car guys, glad you have that connection. Great pics.

I think the MP4-12C is better looking than the top of the line McLaren P1. The P1 is trying to capture the essence of the F1, but I think it's too wild:

nice pics, thanks

The McClaren is SO COMFORTABLE to sit in! Fits me like a glove. More comfortable than a hammock. Plus it does 10s in the 1/4 mile. "Can't beat that with a stick"

My son saw a chrome bodied MP4-12C on the freeway yesterday, along with an Aventador. I think it was owned by the Newport beach McClaren dealership.

You were on the design team for the AM One-77? wow...just wow! That's really cool!

In spite of the Viper's age..it still looks exotic when near another exotic car. The Viper's look still draws a crowed very time. It never looks outdated. On the 2014 Viper, Chrysler a good job keeping the Viper look and still standing out in an exotic car line up.

Yes, lots of it was designed & manufactured in Canada at Multimatic comprised of a great bunch of talented folks, the carbon fiber chassis, etc.. there's a bunch of info on the internet and pics. I designed most of the doors / structure, various carbon fiber parts of the car. I also worked on-site at Aston Martin in their design studio in England for the summer of 2008. It was a great experience that's for sure.

Here's a poster that I saved from that past time in my career... I told some of the Aston studio guys that I had a Viper, they thought it was cool!
Cheers,
Mike

PS.. Multimatic did / does stuff for McLaren too, they designed & supplied the door hinges for the MP4.

Mike, you have a brilliant design pedigree, style and application. I have seen the work you and the team in England at AM produced. It is called art. I helped AM with intellectual property rights of all designs the team produced.

This is why you have an RT10!

Enjoy the autumnal Ontario rides

They stole the Copperhead colour :D

Nice photo of the 2 cars. Viper always gets big respect from car persons. And in Europe, its like OMG... you can afford the gas for all those big cubes!

I have some race car McLaren parts (formula 1) they are amazing. The AM one-77 is beautiful, keep up the good work Mike, we don't expect anything less from you :)
