I'm helping out with a charity car show for a young lady that was in an accident and paralyzed. I'm trying to round up enough Vipers for a potential horsepower challenge with a local corvette club. Details are below. PM me if you need more info.
Due to low response I wanted to send this out to everyone. Weather isn't looking good this weekend in VA, but this is a rain or shine event. Anyone wanting to get out of the house on a rainy day with your other car, come on out.
Please RSVP if you can. If you forget or can't don't worry...
Haven't heard very many responses. Weather's not looking too good, but this is a rain or shine event. We will be inside most of the time anyway. BYOC and I'll see you there.
We're going to have another karting event later in the year (fall time) in Fredericksburg. That's about an hour further north. So, hang in there and try to make that one. Unfortunately, the Richmond track is better.
Mike, yes, please set something up for lunch since you know the area much...
Please RSVP if you can. If you forget or can't don't worry, come out anyway. This is the better (bigger) track of all the ones they own (Richmond, Fredericksburg, VA Beach). Info below. Hopefully those hyperlinks work. PM me if you need more info or my contact info. See you there...
I've done this a few times before, but this club is the first that gave me a form with a checklist they have to actually perform. It requires the car going on a lift as they have to inspect things like the steering linkage and CV joints. Anyway, I don't like the dealership here in F'burg, but...
I'm having difficulty finding an inspector for a track day. I am planning to go to VIR with the Zone 2 Porsche Club in two weeks. They require a pre-inspection by a certified tech. All certified techs I've contacted have the two post lifts which will not fit under my car. Is there anyone you...
Good point Bill and I couldn't agree more. However, isn't the BBK reversible? If not then perhaps I should consider an entire new kit. I just hate forking out $5K for brakes on a car that isn't raced... anymore ;-) Yes, it's a true silver/blue but not ACR (121 total, 83 non-ACR I think).
Can you use the 14" rotors on the 18" Gen IV wheels in the front? Not sure how confident I am with cutting springs. I've done a brake job on the Viper once, but this may be over my head.
Found a set of Viper SRT/10 Truck calipers at the junk yard. Considering buying but not sure if they will fit on my car. I'm upgrading to Gen IV wheels and want to do the big brake kit conversion but will those mammoth calipers fit? I think the truck has larger wheels, so I'm not confident.
My $.02. Got a reckless many years ago (70 in a 35 I think). Went to court without a lawyer, fine=$250 and may have gotten points. In VA they have a plus point system, so even with the violation I was in the positive. If you have a good driving record with VA you should be alright. Mine was...
Here was my best time racing against the clock, NOT THE LIGHT. I had stock street tires. See signature for mods. I would think you would be a full second faster than me putting you at 11 flat. And for the record I have only dragged a couple times, so my times may be slow for the car.
Mike and all,
I will be organizing the informal meet in Fredericksburg. We usually meet at the Spotsy Mall (now Spotsy Town Center) in front of the Logan's Steakhouse. It's real easy to find off exit 130 of I-95. We will try to leave around 10am, but no later than 10:30. Let me know if you...
Here are a bunch of shows I got from a Mopar club here in Freddyburg. Feel free to add them to the calendar. Not sure I will be going to these or not, but wanted to give others the opportunity. Cheers.
May 8 Mopar show and shop tour at Sterling Hot Rod in Sterling, VA
May 15...
Anyone know of and dealt with a good place to mount tires on our wheels? I want to make sure the place can handle wheels our size. I'm in the Fredericksburg area, but am willing to drive a little ways if necessary. Thanks for recommendations.
Matt
Hey any of you want to get on my regional email list for the Fredericksburg lunches, PM me your email addresses or just send me an email. Mine is [email protected]
This is actually a great idea, but I've tried in the past to do a High Performance Driving School there with little success. There are several issues. One is they fill up fast. I would venture to say they are already booked through the summer and the only remaining open days are in the fall...
I may try to find you guys around that new WalMart and lead you in. The address is 11 Village Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA, so it's at the intersection of 17 and Village Parkway. I'll give you a call around 12:30 and see where you're at.
