Viper Dealers in the MD/DC/VA area?

OK, I got off the phone with Chrysler customer support this morning and they opened a case for me, and said to take it to the dealer and they'll have the district service manager come look at it. Before I go through with that and have to leave the car there for who knows how long, I called...

Viper Dealers in the MD/DC/VA area?

If this isn't covered under warranty, then I'm not fixing it. It's annoying as hell, but the transmission works fine. I think the Viper was previously serviced at Reed Brothers in Rockville, so maybe I'll head up that way to get this repaired. It's only about 20 miles away.

Viper Dealers in the MD/DC/VA area?

I'm under powertrain warranty, this is a powertrain issue, but I'm not getting anywhere with my local dealer. I don't know if I'll have to call Chrylser, but I think it is time for me to find another dealer, as I don't really want these guys working on my car anymore. Are there any other...

Viper Dealers in the MD/DC/VA area?

I will travel if I have to. I seem to be getting the shaft from Ourisman Dodge in Chantilly, which is the closest Dodge dealer to me. I may have to take the car somewhere else to get the transmission fixed, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, - ANthony

What do we know about the factory car cover?

Unfortuantely it's not an individual garage, or i'd just get a dehumidifier. It's the whole condo complex, so I'm kind of stuck. I assume the cover is breatheable since the moisture went away. That's all I'm looking to find out for sure.

What do we know about the factory car cover?

Is it waterproof/breatheable? I ask because my garage in my condo complex tends to get damp, the floor, walls, ceiling all get covered in dew, as do the cars. This made its way under the cover on the Viper. If the cover isn't breatheable, then it's probably not good to leave it on with...

    2005 Vipers.

If I had to guess, it's because the 2005s are out of their warranty now. The 2003/2004's both came with a 7/70 powertrain warranty. - Anthony

    Michelin PS2's vs. Nitto Invo's

This isn't even a competition... the PS2's are some of the best tires out there right now. The Invo's aren't too bad - I ran them on a previous car, but they aren't anywhere near the PS2's.

New Tire Choice - Kumho ECSTA XS

Awesome, glad to see that another manufacturer is making tires in our size. I will use one of my contacts at tirerack to see if they can get pricing on these yet. One thing I noticed was that they say they are "Y" speed rated (186 MPH), but all the specs listed show "W" (168 MPH)...

Clanking noise behind the driver seat in SRT convertable

How bad of a clanking noise are we talking about? I had a pretty bad one that I could hear when going over bumps, and it turned out to be the sway bar end links coming loose. - Anthony

damn scratches everywhere on my car! 02 red rt10

You need to do some polishing, compounding to get those out. Those aren't swirls - they are spiderwebbing and they are from improper car washing/drying. Don't worry, a detailer can remove those without much of a problem. And no, you don't need to wet sand. When detailing you always start with...

    Slippery Tires

Summer tires are to be used in... you guessed it - Summer! :p The tread compound just doesn't grip in cold weather, as the tire can never really warm up. So, just take it carefully if you plan on driving your car in the winter, regardless of what tires you have on. - Anthony

SRT Experiance Viper Sold to Public ????

I'm surprised that you guys are so surprised that these press fleet cars make it out into the public. Manufacturers keep cars in their press and marketing fleets just for these purposes (driving experience, etc), and then after about 6 months they rotate them out with new cars, and the old cars...

Ok, I get it. Changed my mind on runflats.

Drove the Viper tonight, it was only 29 degrees, and it was virtually impossible to corner or accelerate at a brisk pace. I was turning onto a road, probably at 20 mph, just a slow turn, and the back stepped out and the car went sideways. It's essentially like driving in snow...

    Insurance

I spoke with Grundy, and there are a few restrictions. I take the car out sometimes at night down into DC and out, and I can't do that with Grundy. Went with Travelers, it was only $300 more for the year and I have no restrictions. Thanks for the input... - Anthony

    Door bangs shut

Mine does this, too. My dealer said it's cause one of the rails is cracked on my regulator. I have a feeling that if they adjusted the drop sequence and inward tilt it would have made up for this. In the end I spent $120 to have them tell me the regulator guide has a crack - and my window...

    Insurance

So Progressive just doubled my rate for six months of insurance on the Viper, from $700 to $1400. This is ridiculous and I am going to switch. My motorcycle is insured with Foremost, which is partnered with Farmers, so I will get a discount if I insure my cars with them as well. However...

Quite a few Vipers at SEMA

I guess twin turbocharging the Viper is the cool thing to do now, as there were a few vendors on display with TT kits for the Viper. KW had an ACR at their booth, and they are working on a kit that will raise and lower the front of the car hydraulicly from inside the car with a switch, so the...

08 ACR Lug Nut Torque? - Not in Manual...

I don't care what any manual states, whether it's 80ft-lbs or 100ft-lbs, I've used 92 ft-lbs on every car I've owned and it's always been fine. Generally any car is going to be between 80-100, so just go in the middle if you're not sure! Not perfect, but a good rule of thumb until you can...

    Changing all the fluids...

Is there a write up about this, or when I do it this weekend should I go ahead and take pictures and do a write up? Also, my tech at the dealer said I neededa posi-additive for the rear differential fluid - is this correct? Manual just states castrol syntorque for the tranny and diff...
