    burning smell at WOT

If it's an acrid smell of exhaust, I'll bet I know what the problem is....'cause I had it! In the hatch area, around the wheel wells, under the carpeting (both sides of the car) are ports that are supposed to open and close, for what reason I am not certain. Someone mentioned that are to relieve...

Random Tech / Corsa sound clip?

I noticed you live in PA.......I'm in Greensburg and have 3" Corsa w/ Random Tech Hi Flo cats on my '99 GTS. If you're nearby, you can hear mine. Highly recommend this combination!!!!!!!!!

    Battery Tender Problem

Thanks everyone for offering your suggestions. Turns out the negative post alligator clip was placed too far down on the post, actually clipped to the nut. Don't ask me why (??), but the B/T light just stayed green. Adjusted the alligator onto the post, light turned red, went to flashing...

    Battery Tender Problem

I immediately turned on the head lights, as you suggested, when I first installed it and saw the green light......tender light stayed green. The tender is not hard wired, never has been. Just alligator clip it to the charging points under the hood. It's always worked just fine...if it wasn't...

    Battery Tender Problem

Just curious if any of the forum have run into this problem before. I generally keep a Battery Tender on my '99 GTS if I leave it parked more than a week...had so much rain this past summer, it seems like it was on the car more often than it wasn't! Anyway, I last drove the car about 2 weeks ago...

    need local viper tech/dealership

Well, Latrobe, PA may be a bit far for you (little under 3 hours), but they have an excellent tech at Laurel Valley Motors. Call and ask for T.O., he's service manager. Al is the Viper tech...very knowledgeable, clean and neat. You'll be well pleased. 724-539-5500

    Battery tendern & winter storage

Don't get too far over the edge on the winter storage... 1)Oil change + Filter........yes 2)Battery Tender...........yes, you can send away or buy one at Pep Boys. About $50. 3)Tire/wheel removal....waste of time. Bump air pressure to 45-50 lbs. and buy 4 pieces of carpet remenants and park each...

Hurst Shifter Group Buy, Modified to fit OEM knobs!

What ever happened with this deal? I'm still very interested in a Hurst shifter....did this whole thing die?

Top 10 Tips to Driving the Viper?

very most important, to me, is do not ever juice it when you are making a slow turn from a stop...the back comes around very, very fast on you and you'll lose control, besides look like a dork.

rt 10 versus gts interiors 97 or newer

you'll need the cut out on the driver's side floor mat for the '99 GTS and newer to allow for the lever that pops the rear hatch...wouldn't think the roadster would need this feature

    West Coast Viper

Last I heard, Jason wasn't with them anymore. The owner now handles the deals...supposed to be a straight shooter.

Fair enough, Daniel....we'll be looking for it!

Hurst Shifter Group Buy, Modified to fit OEM knobs!

Lots of questions about how high the shifter is with the Hurst unit, that still confuses many of us. Two questions posted today on the main board on this topic. If we could get some clear answers, there'd probably be some purchases made....me for one!

would using a non synthetic oil cause burning oil

Where's Tom, the Geek, if I need help here. Anyway, premium grade diesel engine oils are actually higher (yes, higher) in additive packages than the Mobil One types of synthetics are...which translates to "better" for your engine. The majority of the board will tell you to use the premium...

    GTS Drone

ditto with Bruce....has been Corsa's big selling point since day one. I've had the 2 1/2" and 3" Corsa's and they do not drone with or with out H/F cats. 3" is actually a nicer system and with H/F cats has a great sound.

Hurst Shifter Group Buy, Modified to fit OEM knobs!

OK, so what is the final verdict on this subject. Were you able to get a Hurst shifter for a '99 GTS that was cut down so it would take the stock knob and be at the stock height once installed? If so, what's the price? Thanks.....

1986 Grand National beats on a GTS????

Nuck is snorting something....maybe that race gas he mentioned. I had an FBI over run 1987 GN, no options except a/c, no radio, no power windows or anything else. Even with the hypertech chip, that car wasn't in the 11's and it was a strong , stock GN. My '99GTS would walk all over it. Now a...

1986 Grand National beats on a GTS????

First things first. I've owned all 3....'87 Buick GN, Syclone, '99GTS...also a Typhoon. On a stock basis, Viper with my mother driving, would beat all of them, easily. Have the GN, Syclone or Typhoon modified w/ Kenne Bell tuner stuff and they're all 11+ second street machines, auto...

    differencial fluid and additive

I'm an Amsoil fan...75w140 differential lube. Also, it has the additive included in the recipe so you needn't worry about adding any. I'm happy with it, a number of others have used it successfully as well. I'm sure the Mopar is fine, I just wanted something a little better. I only change it...

Hurst Shifter Group Buy, Modified to fit OEM knobs!

I am interested in your Hurst shifter and like the idea that the stock knob will fit...but I'm confused about your pricing. Stock is $275 and your group buy (most times a group buy means a better price) is $340. What is the reason for the price being 20+% higher? Is it because of the special...

ashamed to be seen in your viper, if you see a c6 z06 ?

Even though I actually prefer the boob job, I'd still rather own (and do)the Viper. Refer to the latest issue of Autoweek....mush, mush.

New Member....Thought I Would Introduce Myself

IEATVETS is only partially correct, IMO. I agree, ABS is overated a bit. My '99GTS doesn't have it, I grew up on cars without it and my other 2 cars do have it. The only time I notice a big difference is in the rain or snow....and believe me, driving a Viper is no fun in either...tires too...

just bought viper car feels real darty

I had a '95 R/T and that is the nature of the beast. I traded it for a new '99GTS back in 1999 and the Gen II car was a substantial improvement...much more controlable in the "road feel" department. I'm told the Gen III's are even better, but I just can't give my '99 up yet...

    Beautiful GTS

just curious....how does the acceleration of your GTS compare to the SVT? Heard lots of good things about the S/C SVT, but I still like the Viper. Mine's the same as yours, without the stripes and a '99.

    Beautiful GTS

just out of curiosity, how would you rate the quickness of the GTS vs. the SVT mustang?
