CHARLOTTE, NC
The speedway has a roadcourse inside and the premier drag strip across the street. No shortage of hotels or resturants. Weather is perfect and plenty of attractions. Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned. In fact, many that visit end up relocating to the area.
TIRES!!! Hopefully they have been replaced! Don't make that trip without fresh sneakers! Can't wait for your write up when the trip is complete. Enjoy the ride.
Looks great Markus. Are you keeping that North Carolina inspection sticker just in case I steal that car back from you! Ha. Glad you're enjoying it.

Actually a dual meaning. I once flatlined for 21 seconds while in the hospital for a minor procedure. I woke up just prior to them wacking me with the paddles. That would have sucked!!! No real reason and no negative lasting effects. Also meaning the kids are through college and I'm back into...
Hey Steve, I showed up at the Cars and Coffee Saturday hoping to see ya, but you were a no-show! What's up with that? Hope everything is going well.

Dave, check with the company Air Lift. I have their air bags with an onboard compressor for the rear suspension on my Dodge truck. The unit is very small and will pump up to 100 psi. It also comes with the remote gauge, switch and deflater button.
It fits easily in the small well area under my...
When I bought my 2002 FE, It was a scary thing to brake while going over 65mph. My two prevoius Vipers never gave me that feeling. After a four wheel alignment by Tom Sessions the car was solid as a rock. The stock alignment was horrible. Adding Eibach springs made a wonderful improvement also...
Tom, Tom, John B and Tater all hit it on the head. Timing cover. My '97 did it also. Please consider replacing the bearings and inspect the cam and lifters. When mine happened, all of the previous parts were junk. Coolant will kill the bearings in a heartbeat. The oil cooler also had to be...
Randy, you must be getting soft in your old age. I've seen you tough it out at VIR when it was so hot, chubby guys like me were stealing ice from strangers cooler just to keep from passing out. Currently looking for an '06 coupe so we can start attending these events again. Keep them going. Tell...
Dang it Steve. You guys are really putting the pressure on me. I might need to steal an '06 soon. What's this thing next to your name about an '08 coupe. Did you step up to a new car and didn't tell me? If so, let me kmow, I'll be skidding into your parking lot sooner then you know!

I know! I know! Been busy at trying to stay busy. You hit it right on the head Steve! A '06 Blue/White is exactly what I'm looking for. I've found several, but a couple of more financial things to knock out, and I'm going to pull the trigger. Hope your doing well and I'll definitely stop by...
Hey John, keep up the good work! As soon as I find the right '06 coupe, I'll be participating in these outings again. Good to see the NC/SC chapter growing! Man I miss it!!

Wow!!! What a trip to see my baby in Germany. Glad you like it Markus. I'm so sorry about the damage caused during shipping. This site makes the world so small. I hope it treats you as well as it did me! Thanks for the pictures. Happy motoring.

Thanks for hosting the open house Steve. I'm really not going to the "Dark Side", just can't figure out how to get a Viper motor into this kit car. It was kinda tough hanging around Vipers on the dyno, but I have to finish this project before I get my next Viper. Good meeting everyone. Thanks to...
Your comment about the Ron Davis radiator caught my eye. I have installed a Ron Davis radiator in all three Vipers I've owned and had no problems with heat reduction. The problem I have had is that you can smell coolant after each car came up to temp., but absolutely no leaks at all. I've heard...
Jon is right! He did e-mail me about this event, but I've had training seminars for the past two weeks. I'll be there if I can make it happen. It sounds like a blast. Keep this info at the top of the board and I believe the turn out will be great.

The old Muncie and T-10 transmissions in the early Camaros and Chevelles would stand up to shifting the gears while holding the throttle to the floor and forcefully yank the shifter into the next gear. You still needed to use the clutch, but never lifted the throttle. By shifting the Viper trans...
My suggestion is to avoid banging gears in the Viper. The old Muncie and Saganaw T-10 transmissions were able to handle the abuse to the shift forks. The Viper trans, as strong as it is, does not like to be banged between gears. I was told to shift the tranny as though the shifter was made of...
Hey Matt, take a closer look here, this was last years schedule. This was posted back when Randy Cade was still the President. Look at some of the newer threads above for some of the 2008 planned events. See ya out there.
