10 Days and Counting for the Las Vegas Event....Schedule/Questions Answered

Well this is turning out to be one of the biggest west coast viper drag racing events ever. There are over 20 pre-registered to come and many more that plan on registering at the gate. We expect between 30-40 cars!

I have received many emails and calls regarding the event schedule so I thought I would post the viper happenings.

Winners of the main event will receive cash prizes ($150-250) from mopars at the strip.com .

All of these times are approximations and can change:

<font color="red">Friday March 19th ,2004 </font>

9:00 AM General Gates open.

9:00 AM Drag Race Tech begins.

10:00 AM Car show judging will begin

10:00 AM Test and Tune all Day. <font color="blue"> VIPERS </font>IN LANES 7 AND 8.

5:00 PM Track events conclude for the day.

TENATIVE TIME FOR THE <font color="blue"> VIPER </font> CRUISE 6:00 PM ENDING AT THE Welcome to Las Vegas Party and Cruise Hosted by the Cannery Hotel and Casino.

8:00 AM Gates open for all. Test and Tune <font color="blue">VIPERS </font> IN LANES 7 AND 8.

9:00 AM Start the Dodge Truck/ Cummings Diesel Dyno Pull Off

10:00 AM <font color="blue"> VIPERS </font> Mandatory drivers meeting. Will take place at the drag strip. Info on exact location will be at the entry gate. Discussion of the days events and setup the street and radial tire shootout.

10:30 AM <font color="blue">VIPERS </font> WHOSE WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN DYNO COMPETITION ARE INVITED WE HAVE TALKED WITH THE DYNO SHOP AND THIS IS THE TIME THAT WE HAVE

12:00 PM The Burn Out Contest. Enter now to participate.

1:00 PM <font color="blue"> VIPERS </font> street and radial tire shootout lanes 7 and 8.

2:00 PM Saturday Afternoon Gambler Race/Run for the Money open all racers.

5:00 PM Tenative <font color="blue"> VIPER </font> cruise ending at the Cannery.
5:00-10:00 PM Post Mopars at the Strip party and Cruise at the Cannery Hotel and Casino.

<font color="red"> Sunday March 21st 2004 </font>

8:00 AM Gates open for all others.

8:00 AM Church Service by Racers for Christ.

10:00 AM Mandatory <font color="blue"> VIPER </font> drivers meeting. Discuss and setup Main event.

11:00-1:00 PM <font color="blue">Viper </font>qualifying runs lanes 7 and 8.

12:00 AM Show car winners parade of champions/Award ceremony.

12:45 PM Burn out Contest EXHIBITION CARS RUN.

1:00 PM First Round of Eliminations begin. <font color="blue">Viper </font>Main event begins lanes 7 and 8.

3:00 PM Final Running of the EXHIBITION Class

5:00- 6:00 PM Drag eliminations proceed to the Finals.

You should be able to go to the track and get teched. Just ask at the entry gate.

Here is a question I received in a pm.
Hi Todd,

A few questions about the Vegas event schedule:

1. If I'm participating in the drag event, do I need to be there by 9am on Friday (03/19)? Or if I do not want to do some practice runs (test and tune), can I just show up on Mar. 20th at 10am?
2. What's the latest date/time I can have my car tech'd?
3. Just to confirm, on Mar. 20th and 21st, all Viper drag racing participants MUST be at the track no later than 10am? And 8am on Mar. 20th, if I want to participate in the test and tune?

1. YOu can show up no later than 10am on saturday and still be in the race.
2. 10:00 am saturday 20th
3. That is correct.

Thanks for getting everything laid out!!!! It should be a great event.

One question: If one doesn't bring Street Tires, can they still do time trial runs on Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM? I imagine that there are several of us that will have slicks only.
