I don't have them yet but plan on it. I saw a black GTS at TNT in Houston with 546 HRE 19".I believe it had N.Y. plates. Did not talk to the owner but they looked incredible. They will be on my '01 soon!

I just priced a 19" wheel/tire package for a Viper. [It was about $6400 + s/h.] HRE 545 and Michelin Pilot Sports. The tire size does NOT exactly match the OEM 18" size, but its DARN close.

Jon,

Are you looking at 18x10 front, 19x13 rear? I have BBS Lm's 18x10 front, 18x13 rear, I would like ot see if BBS makes a 19x13 for the rear.

What tires are you going to run for the 19's.

Mark,

Definetely 17" to race on but the larger sizes look SO much better for cruising. Save the 17's for race day with the appropriate tires. Multiple sets of wheels and tires for road race, autocross, and everyday driving is the way to go.

Can someone tell me, using easy to understand "non car guy" language, what the performance differences would be as a result of larger tires (particularly a move from 18" to 19" or 20"). There seems to be a negative effect on performance.

Sean's explaination was clear, however, are there other negative performance issues?

Thanks,

-W

HRE wheels are NOT necessarily that expensive.

Complete, center caps and all, they are LESS than OEM factory wheels. Example: PartsRack can furnish HREs for as little as $3499/set in 17"

( We cheat the other guy, and pass the savings on to you ! )
