Holy crap. Glad you found it before it broke and cause a serious problem.

And just "how" does something like that happen? I would assume that these parts would be a bit tougher than that?

I'm surprised by all the rust... I have an 06 and it doesn't look like that.

Thanks for sharing. I will do a double check of my car now. I am still under warranty, but not for much longer.

Thats probably a one time thing.. Definitely worth a check on others cars.

You do have quite a bit of rust for 7k miles. You must drive in the wet weather quite a bit.

What's amazing is that crack looks as if it's not recent. Rust on the frame has nothing to do with that crack. Has that wheel assembly ever had an impact? Possibly a severe *** hole if not an accident?

Is that the same car you purchased earlier this year?

If so I wonder if that is a sign of something happening before you got it or possibly while in transit (thinking that if someone tied it down using the frame really hard it could have overloaded it). Just some thoughts.

the SRT was sent over by Chuck brand new to the first owner in our club and my friend Steve, who sold it on after a year or so later with 700 miles on it, the next owner whom i dont know had it until December 08, i know he drove it in all weathers and winter salt, hence the rusty bits

i ran the usual checks on the car before buying and no accidents were showing, Baz has serviced this car all along since it arrived in the UK with both previous owners, so he knows its history as well

wheel, suspension, wheel arch etc is not showing any signs of an impact, and yep the crack been so dirty looks like it cracked a while ago to me. The other wisbones are all OK

Its put on about 1000 miles since december 08, but i know i havent hit a *** hole that would do that sort of damage

The scary thing is i was doing 140mph in it just on tuesday...hope this is a one off but worth getting some brake cleaner and checking

sure did make the show David thanks to Baz, i had to leave the car at the garage, we went out for some grub then Baz drove me 90 mins home, got in a 12.30am then Baz had to drive back to his house, he then had a 6.30am start to collect his passenger in his RT/10 and continue to the show and i had a lie in, as the event was near my house :)

could of gone to the show in the GTS but my brother in law took it the show instead

hope your having a great time in Germany, have you been around the Ring yet in your hire car ??

Hey, I noticed something wrong with some of those cars. The steering wheel is on the wrong side! I wonder if that kind of thing is under warranty as well.
