What are the main differences between the two?
I know the 2010s have a redesigned spoiler for more aero and better gearing, but is there anything else?
Also, can the 2010 changes be added to a 2008?

Thank you

A 2008 can be made to have the same as the 2010 by adding the rear spoiler, swapping the trans and changing the shifter.
Some has mentioned the frame on the 2009+ has been reinforced a bit, where or how I don't know.
The computer on 2008 vs 2009/2010 is a bit different too, the 2009/2010 drive by wire is a bit better. I would agree owning an 08 and 09. But the 08s can be improved by getting the Mopar Performance PCM for $1100

Production number wise, I think this is right or real close.

2008 = 179 ACRs
2009 = 251 ACRs
2010 = ??? ACRS

I wouldn't let the little changes determine what ACR to get, most wont need or use them and getting a Mopar PCM and MGW shifter negates those model year changes. Find the car you want for the price you want and go from there.

Thanks for the response.

Do you happen to know if the ACR-X has a different transmission?

It should be the same as the 2010. (AFAIK, I don't recall hearing about any differences in the trans) The clutch/flywheel was different though on the X.

The 2013 Viper trans is different though and can be swapped into any Gen IV for about 5k give or take.

I think it is just the wing end plates that are different plus gearing in trans.

The wing has a different shape and end plates are different. Front canard is also a little different. Short shifter and different 5 and 6 ratio.

I think it is just the wing end plates that are different plus gearing in trans.

5th gear was changed so it wasn't so tall in 2010. The rear wing is different in 2010, the gurney flap is more of a moustache profile instead of a single height lip. The end plates are vented. The shifter is shorter in 2010.

The rear subframe and gas tank were altered in 2009 for crash standards. The 2009 stock PCM was adjusted to reduce throttle lag. The hood standoffs were changed slightly. The paint supplier was changed in 2009.

The wing and 5th gear can be adapted to the 2008 without problem, but I don't think it makes a difference for 99% of the driving you'll do anyhow. The hardest part would be to find a 2010 rear wing cheaply, I would think.

5th and 6th were revised only on a few prototype transmissions that were sold (in 2012). 6th gear was identical from 2008-2010 for all production Vipers.

2008 top speed: 177
2010 top speed 184 ( The rear wing profile and end plates were reshaped to reduce drag and improve rear yaw downforce.)

2008 fifth gear .74
2010 fifth gear .80

The 2010 also got a short-throw shifter.

And see post number 7 above.
