As silly as it sounds, and aside from using NEW, lithium batteries in the fobs, BE SURE that the contacts are clean and reassemble the fobs carefully. With 18 fobs covering all generations, I have mis-assembles more that one fob on first try.

A locksmith MAY be able to do this. Otherwise, I THINK it will need to be done with a wiTECH 2.0 Pod.

Hopefully, someone else knows a "trick".

I can do Gen I. II, III, and IV fobs but I have not tried anything with a "smart" (chipped) key fob.

Update on fob, put 2 new batteries that showed on volt meter to be fully charged reading 3.37 volts, nothing worked at the car, sat in and reversed the key fob on the start button as directions say and car started but nothing else on the fob worked. My son went on his own and bought new batteries because he is snake bit and were supposed to take a cruise tomorrow comes in and tells me they work perfect, I'll be damned both fobs work perfectly. My new batteries nothing, his worked perfect. Now the cars go out tomorrow for the first time this year! Feel like a fool on April fools day.Steve you were on to something with BRAND new batteries as mine were but were bought last year. Lesson learned
