Hi everybody and happy new year with your Viper :drive:

Last step : I must buy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup for trackdays.

Just one question : for the front, 285/30 or 295/30 ?

What's the best choice and why ?

Thanks for your help.

Comparing the overall size of the stock 275/35 R18 with your 2 tires, a 285/30 R18 will be too small, 3,3%. The 295/30 R18 will be 2,4% smaller.

I run 295 or 305's up front, I get better turn-in response in my GenII.

Go with the 295 , for better turn in and less push as Leslie brought up. Keep in mind that the 295 is the standard size for the front tire on an ACR........so no sweat!

Wow that is it for sure! I had so much push, I felt a big difference with the 295.

GenIII, I have track friends that run wider tires up front too.

That's what I had issue at Blackhawk farms. If you watch the video from that race against the EVO, you can hear me feathering on the gas because it keeps pushing my fronts but track alignment may fix this issue :dunno:

I have a 05 GenIII and use the PSCups with 295 up front. I may try 305's some time, it would give you some better turn in and brake ability but I suspect the side wall is getting out there some off the rim and might take a little getting used too. Anyway Im happy with the 295's and had PSII 275 before. Substantial difference in tire and grip with the wider size.
