2nd Annual CT Summer Brunch Cruise Aug 9th

Where: The Hopkins Inn New Preston, CT
When: Noon
Cost: $30pp ($50 actual cost, subsidized by the club. )

Sitting high above the northern shore of Lake Waramaug, the Hopkins Inn has welcomed travelers since 1847. Guests enjoy expansive views of the lake, the Berkshire foothills, and neighboring vineyards from the dining areas and guest rooms. In addition, guests have access to the waters of the lake through the Hopkins Inn beach, located a short distance from the inn. Adirondack chairs on the lawn provide a pleasant afternoon's rest and are just steps above the sandy shoreline. Hopkins Inn is renowned for its restaurant which specializes in contemporary Austrian cuisine and its award winning Wiener schnitzel. So come enjoy great food, atmosphere and the camaraderie of fellow Viper enthusiasts from the best club on the planet!

10:00am @ the MOBILE GAS STATION in the median off the HUTCH RIVER PARKWAY just north of EXIT 23 (MAMARONECK AVE.)

CT Crew
10:30am @ the Commuter Lot off of Exit 26 (Rte 70 Cheshire) on I-84. Commuter lot is located right next to the I84-West entrance. We're departing promptly at 11am.

What's the real drive time from NYC? Is it about 2 hours? And what time did you all get back last year?

Scott, I know we had a lot of New Yawkers come out last year but I'm not sure who came from the city. We ate in a hurry because there was a major storm, monsoon, we didn't want to get caught in...but did. (That was a lot of fun). I think we left by 2:30pm. The Inn has rooms...in case anyone wants to come up the night before. If you do come Scott bring your daughter...my daughter wants to know when the two of them can do the Nintendo DS thing again.

I just need to be back in the city by 3PM firm. Guess that means I'll need to leave by 1? Not sure we'll even have been served the shrimp coctail apps by then.

No kidding, I started getting hungry as I was typing it. Spread the word....where the heck is everyone?!? The wife & I will be there, more food for me. The good news is that weather looks really nice this weekend...no monsoons this year.

NY/CT Members, due to the chance of bad weather on Sunday (Aug 9th) we decided to change the date for the CT Summer Brunch Cruise to September 27th.There's a 40% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday and some folks have a long drive. Certainly not fun in the rain so I'm playing it safe.
