Why was it in the "Body Shop"?
If front end damage - Maybe A/C got it [hole in sys.] or "Body Shop" had to move A/C Components for repair? [no Freon?]
I/we need more Info for better diagnostics!

Definitely have it serviced. Can't live w/o AC - not in Houston anyway.

I had mine in for A/C work a couple times. It would get progressively warmer and even throw out some ice chips for laughs! They replaced the evaporator core and dryer and it ran fine. For a week. After that they replaced the compressor, as they felt it had a small leak. That was in November and I haven't played with the A/C since then. We shall see!

sometime when I change gear from 4 to 5 my ac quit blowing but I can live without air for 10 to fifteen second

Mine did the same thing. Check the fuse. Solved my problem.

For you newer owners that aren't aware of it, the car will turn off the A/C compressor at full throttle. Some folks think it is a defect, but it is more of a power saving/adding feature.

Oh yeah, and I turned on the A/C yesterday for the first time since November when the compressor was replaced. Yep, warm air once again. Was hoping to bring it to work today but decided that driving in a suit in a black car when it is 87º out could be risky. Especially in stop-and-go traffic. Got an appointment for the car on Wednesday and we shall see what they do THIS time!

Got mine back from body shop number 2, (front end damage, body shop number 1 dropped the ball). Same thing, no AC. There's a silver container on the passenger side of the engine compartment with a window on the top of it. Look to see if there is fluid in there or if it's all air. If it's all air, most likely they removed it and didn't refill with freon.
