The advantage is not just a little HP increase. Bigger TBs allow less pedal to put the same power down---quicker ....More like an on /off switch as GR8 ASP explained it to me. With larger TBs on a a Roe car, you're getting the power to the wheels a tad faster which should translate to a little more SOTP than 12 HP gained with say an exhaust upgrade.

Not only the power increase with these, but the polished units looks NICE in the engine bay. I love my accufabs.

I have a set of 65mm Accufab throttle bodies on my Venom 550. Is there any advanatage to installing larger TB's, 70mm or 75mm? If I install a larger TB does the ECU have to be reprogrammed?

Any input is much appreciated! :2tu:

To my knowledge, no one has gone to the dyno, done a run, swapped TB's, done another run, and then documented either increased HP or a change in where the power comes in.

That being said, I've actually seen people add cats, headers, and TB's to a car and lose power on the dyno.

If someone wants to loan me a set of TB's, I have a willing donor car (not mine) which is a ROE SC set-up w/ a built motor that we can run this test on. Back-to-back runs w/different TB's.

i remember seeing someone lose power with the addition of TB's

i would think you'd need the demand of larger TB's to support them. on a s/c, it makes sense though to me.

I'm saying that there is no empirical evidence one way or another to prove that TB's are THE restriction that cause you to lose HP.

Let's use an 'extreme' example: you have water flowing through pipes that start going through two pipes and break out into 10. If the 10 smaller pipes cannot flow more than the original 2 pipes, then adding a little more volume to the initial 2 pipes may or may not help improve water movement.

On my DLM car, in the 700hp range, I saw no difference with TB's.
