Has anyone added the 2010 Viper 5th and 6th Gear Ratios to a 2008 Viper yet? (It looks like Gripforce is in this process).

I am curious to know the approximate cost of this mod.

Thanks!

They must be using aftermarket or Chevy parts because the Viper parts are not available yet so find out what the rating for the gears are before saying yes to the work.

6th gear isn't different for the 2010 Viper is it? I noticed gripforce's post and was confused.

Stealth, check your PM.
According to Dan at DC, we are using the 5th and 6th gear ratios from
new CTS-V.
2010 vipers come with 5th gear changed but I wanted a 'true' 6 speed car.

Just to clarify...

2003-2009 Gen 3, Gen 4 - 5th(.75); 6th(.50)

2010 Gen 4 - 5th(.80); 6th(.50)

Gripforce's Gen 4 - 5th(.80); 6th (.63)

Shorter 5th AND 6th gears for the older T-56 version of the trans are available from Rockland Gear in New York. Fantastic modification. With shorter rear end gears it gives a Viper the gearing it SHOULD have come with from the factory (I have never understood why Vettes have better gearing than Vipers when everyone is subject to the same CAFE rules).

Hey Guys,

I'm considering this change for my 09 ACR. Parts are available from John Donato, a SRT trans engineer.

Info below is from a couple of weeks ago.

I just received the first the first T6060, .80 / .63 gear set. I will be fitting them into a trans this week and will let you know. I will also check the fit up of the .80 / .50 gear set.

Thanks, John

Yes, John Donato is the one who put the gears in my tranny.
Tranny just arrived from Donato Eng. and DC is putting the tranny
in tomorrow. I will keep you all posted how it does in top end.

We have worked with John on the automatic swaps in the Gen3's. What did it cost and did you HAVE to send him the transmission?

Yes, the tranny was removed and sent to Donato.
It costed me $ 2500 labor/shipping back and forth included.
