I have a gen1 1994 viper venom (550). The air and heat will not switch from the defrost to the dash or floor. I looked for a vapor connection. I found what appears to be that coming from top rear valve cover passenger side. It looked to be chewed off (mice). More inspection found plug wires chewed as well. Okay, after taking all water pump lines off the water pump to get to two(2) ignitions, I replaced all the wires. With the firewall exposed, I still could not see where that (vapor) line would go through the firewall. What the? First question, was that a vapor line I found? Second, where can I get a replacement? Third, where does it go through? Forth, could that air flow be controlled by electric? Thanks much for any answers or suggestions. Car is for sale by the way. Black and Bad.

The Vents are Vacuum Operated and does go to the right bank back rear (at least on a Gen II) How far is it chewed up? Can you splice another Vacuum line onto the chewed up one so you dont have to go into the dash?

Thanks so much for your response. The part that is left is about 10 inches long and I may be able to splice onto that. The issue is, I don’t see where it goes through the firewall. So, what ever the total length of that tube is (I don’t know). I can’t splice if I can’t find the other end.

So is the damage under the dash or in the engine compartment?
