Title says it all:

What are the complications to changing out the rear gears if you have a Quaife?

I currently have the stock 3.07 gearing, but am considering something different (3.55 or 3.73)

3.21, 3.33, 3.45, 3.55 and 3.73 ratios are available for your rear end. They will all work with your Quaife.

I would highly suggest riding or driving a car with gears to get and idea what you want. I was going to go with 3.55s when I did the Giken but considering I plan to boost power I went with 3.33s. I thought there would be very little different between them and the stock 3.07s. I can tell you I was dead wrong. 3.33s made a dramatic difference in both performance and drivability. 5th and 6th are now useful. With that said I couldnt imagine 3.55s or 3.73s. They maybe too steep for a car with this much torque.

You may also want to talk to JonB or unitrax for some thoughts on the subject.

Straight forward swap.

Think twice about lowering gears if you are going to track the car (and you have in the past). On some tracks, you will run out of 4th gear in the straights and 5th will be pretty high unless you change it too. On other tracks, the gearing may be better or worse coming out of some corners.

Lower gears are fun around town.
