Battery disconnect and keyfob

I want to remove the battery to check the electrolyte level. When I disconnect it will I lose the key fob code(as my C5 vette did).Also what else will happen or need reset?

The PCM resets but you do not lose your key codes.

You will NOT normally lose the fob codes.

But even if you did, you can re-synch the fob by holding down both buttons for about 7-10 seconds til the horn *****.

Joel. if you have a bettery tender you can leave it hooked up while you disconnect your battery. It will provide wnough power to prevent you from losing any of your PCM settings..

We discovered this accidentally but have now used this for battery replacements on 2 cars...

When I change Snake batteries, I connect a 9 volt battery ( as in garage opener, etc.) to the cigarette lighter...keeps clock, radio settings, etc. just fine.
