Best Battery replacement for SRT

I know this has been the subject of debate; what works best as a replacement?

hands down, Optima.

Red Top if starting Duty Only, Yellow Top if you like to listen to the radio with the car off, or anything like that for extended periods.

my choice: Odyssey pc 925mjt why? because it saves 16 lbs compared to the original SRT10 battery. It is leakproof {jell} It has a 2year full replacement warranty. You do however, due to its small size need to fabricate out of hard foam or wood a surround so it is secure in the battery compartment.
I have an optima in my '96 and it works well also. I maintain each with a float charger.

We have had no discussion about batteries for the Gen III that I am aware of. Maybe it is too early as the stock batteries should still be ticking. But are there any size issues like the posts hitting on Gen I/II? If not getting a gel cell or Optima would be the trick I would guess (note I have not observed any signs of acid leakage on mine).

I had no choice but look for the quick solution; went to the dealer and he said the stock battery is the same type they put into the dodge Caravan-in fact he indicated to me on the parts screen the same parts numbers. I was alittle taken because the replacement was not maintenance free; It did have the same serrations for the battery hold down and matching the existing one. I will use this one until I find something suitable. 75 dollars out the door for the replacement.

I put an Optima yellow top in mine. Fit is good. Cranking power and reserve is much better than stock.

Install details are in an earlier post. You must slightly modify the battery temp sensor. Easy mod.
