Broken piece from hood

glad you're enjoying the car, a shorter length gear knob will
help you change gear (less travel - an easy fix) most replace the stock knob. Haven't heard of peices coming off the hood, a touch up of paint at the least, see how it goes, shame to have it
in and miss the decent weather.

What a bummer...but I know what you are talking about. The edges of the hood were changed mid 2000 model year, and are now rounded to prevent what happened to your machine. I would bet that just the edge looks ugly. I would use a very gentle file, and smooth out the edge...then touch up. I doubt that repairing the edge by grafting another piece on would be more delicate, and probably not worth the effort. Good luck!
