Hello there I sill wonder if its possible to put the new double plate clutch into a 2004 SRT without changing the gear box. Perhabs Mark Jorgensen from Woodhouse or Herb Helbig from Viper magazine could find out. Thank you.

No. The input shaft does not have the correct spline length to fit in the double clutch. You can do the reverse [single in a 2008] but not in this way. you would need to run the TR-6060, bell, and driveshaft as well.

They were supposed to be working on a swap kit but with all the shake up since then progress has definitely slowed. We can do a twin disk clutch though if you don't have to have the factory one. You will also need to replace the flywheel at the same time though.

Ditto. When you factor in the price of the OEM components, and that you would need a Flywheel anyway... the McLeod Twin Disc looks very attractive, and with a LOT more capacity.

Hey Dan,

Good to know the earlier Gen II / III LUK clutch will fit into an 08 / 09.

Personally, I much prefer it's feel (engagement length is shorter in the Gen II / III and timing is more precise) and it seems to hold up better on the track than the OE unit in the Gen IV.

A couple of our Gen IV track guys have already lost their OE clutches. I will likely go back to it when the OE twin disk clutch fails in my 09.....and it's likely a bunch less $$$$.

Dont forget, you need a Gen-3 Flywheel/Hydraulic Release as well if you plan to do that. Make sure you go with a light flywheel if you plan to keep the rotational interia roughly the same as your '09 is right now, they are lighter OE.
