Hello there I sill wonder if its possible to put the new double plate clutch into a 2004 SRT without changing the gear box. Perhabs Mark Jorgensen from Woodhouse or Herb Helbig from Viper magazine could find out. Thank you.
They were supposed to be working on a swap kit but with all the shake up since then progress has definitely slowed. We can do a twin disk clutch though if you don't have to have the factory one. You will also need to replace the flywheel at the same time though.
Hey Dan,
Good to know the earlier Gen II / III LUK clutch will fit into an 08 / 09.
Personally, I much prefer it's feel (engagement length is shorter in the Gen II / III and timing is more precise) and it seems to hold up better on the track than the OE unit in the Gen IV.
A couple of our Gen IV track guys have already lost their OE clutches. I will likely go back to it when the OE twin disk clutch fails in my 09.....and it's likely a bunch less $$$$.
