Here I go again with more stupid questions. The last two times I started my Viper, it started right up, but then it stumbled like it was going to stall. I just feathered the gas until it picked back up and then it idled fine. Any ideas.

Don't start it unless you plan on driving it at least 10 to 15 miles. Leave it shut down, with a battery tender hooked up, for the winter hibernation. It really is the best thing you can do for the car. In PA., it usually lasts 3 to 4 months....it is what it is!

Anybody got a guess regarding how long (days, weeks) an average battery will hold power when the car is idle and the outside temp is between 20 and 30F?

I didn't hook up the battery tender because I figured I'd be on the road in two weeks. The 7 day forecast looks like it'll be at least three weeks.....am I pushing it?

I took it out, I drove it for about an hour....just was very selective about which roads I took. :)

If your battery is in good shape and in a reasonable state of charge, you can park the car for months, at least four, without any trouble.

I close up my sailboat every year about late November and it starts up fine in April.

A trickle charger is nice but you don't need one.
