Laurie,

I'm not sure if the 98 GTS has the same headlight operation as your 94, but to turn the fog lights on with just the parking lights, you simply turn the switch to the parking light position and pull it out toward you. This will turn the fog lights on-even when your headlights are off.

Hope this helps.

Nope. Year matters!
The 1996.5 and later have that headligh popout switch.

(Obscure Trivia 100 point answer: Switch is OE off a Euro Ford- Mercury Scorpio !!!!)

There have been several threads (that I cannot find) to tell you how to wire that driving lite switch to either its own hotwire, so they can run innep. of lights...or wire to parking light switch/fuse to operate as you prefer.

Search a LONG window above for "Fog Light Switch Driving Lights"

Laurie,
I will post this again here (some wording modifications), I think you would like this method:

Hi all,
Just a thought; why not fog lights ALL the time or switchable ON/OFF any time with it's own switch ??
For older cars without auto day time lights, like my 96 Chrysler T&C, I made my fog (driving) lights to come on with my ignition on (switchable).
I disconnected the wires to the fog lights at the fog light housing. Be sure to note which one is + and - .
I ran separate wires from the fog lights(2, one +, one -) up to and under the dash. I then found a wire that is hot when ignition (key) is ON (this being the +). I tied into this wire with a inline fuse, to be the hot wire to the fog lights (both). The other ( - ) wire went to a switch I installed under the dash (accessable). I can turn the fog lights ON or OFF ANYTIME from the switch, or leave the switch ON, and the fog lights come on and off with the car running,(ignition ON/OFF).
I have had this installed for about 5 years now; also, on my wife's Ply. Voyager.
Soon to arrive 96 Viper RT/10. , and I quite likely will use the above described method to activate the fog (driving) lights.
Again, just a thought

Actually, it is a simple procedure to modify your Gen 1 fog lights. Someone posted the method years ago on this board, but I can't remember where I put it. I have been operating my fog lights independently, from all other lights, since. They operate with ignition and fog light switch on.

From memory........disconnect the battery at the remote terminal(under the hood). Lower the fuse block under the dash, located above the passenger leg area. Move the fog light wire from cavity #2 to(unused)cavity #10. Install 20 amp fuse. Reconnect battery and check lights.

If this doesn't work, let me know. I will take a look at my "94 to confirm.

This is what I followed for my 1998. Not sure if year matters.

How to 'hotwire' the foglights so the foglights and high beams can be on at once (basically every light bulb on the car on at once!). What a difference on dark roads! Remove the fog logic relay under the relay/fuse cover. Place a 1" jumper wire in between the lowest horizontal plug and the middle vertical plug. Thats it - fog lights will no longer go off with the high beams.

Good luck

Just a warning, if you are going to jumper with wire, make sure that the wire you use is the same gauge as the wires you are connecting. Otherwise, you will create a fuse and it will go snap crackle pop when it heats up. Or even worse, Flame on.
