I have three cracks (about 2" diameter)on the top of my 93's trunk lid. It looks like it is from the previuos owner opening the trunk too hard and banging against the stops/hinges (I can see a similar small crack on the underside along the reinforcing section of the trunk frame.)
My idea is to sand it down so I can see the bare glass, feathering out the edges on the crack (its in a three legged star shape) and then using fiberglass/resin to repair. Then finish with the regular/fill/prime/BC/clear.

Anyone ever done similar reapirs? is there a prefered repair material for such issues?

You should probably drill an 1/8" hole an the end(s) of each crack to eliminate stress risers and prevent the crack from continuing after the repair.
