crank pulley spun off even with pins

I just had a look in my spare parts catalog for the snake and it shows a key for the damper - crank....part number 6034749..
Maybe this was introduced 2001 which is the model year of my catalog

My car is a 2001 and the crank was not pinned or keyed from the factory.

I don't know if that's the same 'key' people are referring to. :dunno:

I can say with absolute certainty that the crank on my car is not notched to take a key as displayed in that exploded view. Very strange.

KCO, for a very brief time, Dodge ran out of #CVH788847-2 cranks and used the #F94994030 series cranks out of the Fiat Camrade straight four. Those are not keyed, but rely on tomatoe paste to hold everything together. You are the first one to actually have a failure using that crank that I have heard of. Strange.

I would also be concerned that the drawing shows only one piston....

I just KNEW that my car had 2-1/2 crankshafts in it!!!
