Cutting Out Cats Help?

Sorry the exhaust subject is brought up again, but I am plannng on replacing my stock exhaust on the '96 gts with the new Borla 4 resonator set up. First off, I would really like to remove the cats altogether for sound, performance and heat reasons. What exactly do I need to do to make sure that a check engine light does not come? Do I have to worry about performance loss by removing them? I thought about high-flow cats, but would rather remove completely. Finallly, does that borla system come with a H-pipe built in? Any help will be appreciated.

There is ton of info on the forum about this. IF you are not running cats, you will need o2 simulators (about $100 for pair) and of course piping to replace cats. Personally, I am going with Roe high flow cats and the Borla setup that you are getting. I belive the borla does not have H pipe built in - rather adds 2 more mufflers from the previous version to tone down under idle/cruise.

I bought my stright pipes to replace the cats from Roe Racing. I gust cut the cat off in front of the weld and used a strap wrench to help remove it from the resonator.
I have put around 100 miles on and have had no sensor fault
codes. I have a 97 GTS.

Hey guys, All parts are off of a 1997 GTS. Both parts have less than 2k miles on them. SS Borla Headers with Flex pipe welded in. There are no dings or dents and are in great shape. SS Borla Exhaust in perfect condition. Everything shiny and new. Both are in great shape. Please no low ball offers....we all know what these parts go for... =) Steve [email protected]
